Impact of Today's Victory on Recruiting?

What do you guys think? Did today's victory make us more attractive to recruits? I feel like we showed that our coaches can be strong game planners and we have the potential to be a competitive team in the Pac 12 given that we beat a decent team away from home. We outplayed Utah in virtually every aspect of the game, yet it was obvious that there are holes on our team that will get even bigger with some of the seniors graduating as well (read: EARLY PLAYING TIME!).

Also anyone know if we had some recruits at the game today?

This was big. We're now on the recruiting trail saying that we won 2 of our last 3 and have the starter in the Army All-American Game from 2 years ago taking over at QB next year as a RS-Soph... and there's a huge opportunity for early playing time due to how young we are.

I feel the same way. Hard to believe it doesn't help recruiting-the same message about early playing time and helping to rebuild the program, etc. still is true, and kids can actually see there may be light at the end of the tunnel and Embree and his team may actually be capable of returning the program to glory. It's one thing promising early PT to a recruit when it is not clear the team will ever be good. If you are a competitive person, which is what Embree wants, you don't want to be starting for a ****ty team. Another thing if you can start early on a team that is on its way up and could be playing for Pac 12 championships, Rose Bowl, by your senior year. At least the end of the season (outside of our bomb at UCLA) gives hope that that kind of trajectory is possible.

Kids want to go someplace they can win. This win along with the Arizona win make us 2 for the last 3, a sellable trend. We only got 3 wins but they came late, evidence to recruits that the team didn't quit. The recruits who visit will be talking with our current players, it will be a much more positive environment around the team with the way the season ended.

Big win for the Buffs, we already have a decent class coming in, this win hopefully will give the coaches momentum on the recruiting trail, so that we can keep the commits we have already and add more good players.

This win certainly didn't hurt CU's recruiting pitch.

It's clear that CUs coaches are passionate, goal oriented, and capable of motivating a 2-10 team to play with pride and attitude. Too bad the Buffs didn't play this loose and with swagger against UCLA or Stanford or Oregon or Washington or Ohio State.

The biggest boost may be from the players themselves, who can hold their heads a little bit higher during the off season and tell recruits about how Embree motivated the team to win on senior day and snap that ugly road skid.

With a pair of November conference wins, CU has a foundation on which to build.

This win didn't catapult CU into the top tier of the P12. But with wins over Arizona and Utah, there are at least two division teams with whom CU can boast scoreboard. That might pay off in the P12 recruiting battles.

I think we have a platform to work from now. We can tell kids look, we're getting better and now there is some positivity towards that. We can also still use the "you'll play very early for us" card. More than either of those options though, over the past 10 years, CU had ceded their position to Utah and Boise State out west. Knocking off Utah takes some of that luster from them and brings it back to us. Before we can dance with the big dogs in recruiting, we need to consistently beat the pants off these two programs on the field or in recruiting and take back our spotlight in the mainstream which used to have.

Gives them a hard sales pitch. Instead of just talking about it, they can point to the scoreboard and legitimately sell that we´ve turned the corner.

I will go out on a limb and say top-25. Call me nuts. Here's why:

Huge numbers. We will have 28-32 scholies available (26 plus Olatoye and Nobriga is 28, plus further fallout we should always expect). We can get a few guys in early for Spring, add 25 for fall 2012, and potentially grayshirt a few. I wouldn't do the latter, but Embree doesn't believe in "next year".

I'd expect they will have the TX RB Crowder (torn ACL) to delay enrollment a semester.

Next class is projected small with only 10 Jr's on Scholarship. Plus any we don't use in 2012 of the 28-32 projected available.

So factor in the big numbers and what I suspect will be some big time flips we will get in the next 2 months... We will turn the momentum on this thing.

Of course, only the 25 signed for 2012 count for the rankings. Not too worried about ranking though - getting the kids here is the only thing that really matters, although the buzz of a good class may feed itself for the next class.
