Jersey numbers

Hurtado was pretty much the lowest rated recruit in the '22 class. Sounds like whichever coach found him did a great job in this case.
He has been playing at a different speed and it's great he earned his number. What this article makes clear, I think, is that getting your number is about attitude, dedication, effort - type stuff. Not just performance based. Mr Hurtado earned his number and got moved up to 2nd team, from the 'bottom of the list'.
I will be cheering for him.
I've got a Jordan Dizon autographed football. He was a smaller LB; All-American, NFL, knee. He was a Greeley fireman, before getting on with the Broncos, now with the Eagles I think.

Almost certain Coach said no one will be a zero.

If that was the case, almost again certain Cokes would have took the number he had last year.

Pretty shocked by this but great to see a second TE stepping up (if that's what it means).

I don't think the numbers work for all TE's to be here in the fall so this spring will be a battle. They also seem very high on Yelverton
Some may not know Yelverton, but was a 2020 signee to Iowa with offers from everyone (Georgia, Auburn, Penn St, Michigan etc). He was also Shedeur's fav target in high school. With that, he left the Iowa program and apparently is a bit light at this time. But as a PWO, could be a real nice pickup.

Trying to make sense of the distribution of numbers so far.

Obviously as Prime stated players have to earn the number not just show up. Also think there are some that have probably earned a number but that will have to wait because Prime is making it clear that everyone has to earn it and earning it means working to the level the coaches believe the individual can reach regardless of how they compare with others, example Shedeur.

Have noted that while they haven't given out a lot of them they have spread the ones they have determined between the new players coming in and the holdovers.

Makes sense because this is a teambuilding moment and they are sending a message that it doesn't matter how or when you got here, be 100% with the program you will be an full member of the program.

So, are they really going to do this spring game with 85 percent of the team numberless? That will be a bummer for fan experience.
