Jim Leavitt hired as new Colorado DC

I hope Leavitt's head doesn't explode when his D gives up a 75 yard screen pass or something. His patience will surely be tested. :sad1:

I'm curious how Leavitt's rating of Olugbode and Gillam will differ from MacIntyre's. Mac seemed to really be enamored with both of them, and Severson--not saying they're not good, but his contentment with them as talents seemed to influence their LB recruiting behind them.

I truly hope the Buffs become a football power again, but most of you are brushing aside this guy's issue:
At age 48, not as a kid, he hit one of his players, tried to obstruct justice by bullying him into changing his story ("I'm the most powerful man in the building") and lied to his university - then was fired and no one in college ball would touch him for 10 years. The admin, wanting to build a brand and collect the bucks, gave him a shot.

Women who are battered by men, have to learn the hard way: a dog that bites once, bites again. Hopefully he has learned and can control himself, but his base personality hasn't changed.

CU became a lot more like those schools that "we now take you to..." with this hire.

Again, I hope he helps lift the program back to 1990 heights, but it's pretty BS to listen to all you guys talking about this amazing hire by RG. You don't think dozens of schools looked at him over the years? -- of course they did.

That's not very Christian of you.

man you change an agenda's on a dime...

Would JFK's head be considered exploding? It looked like it. Leavitt has been around a long time, he knows what he's getting into. That thing that happened, let it go, I'm pretty sure he's tired of carrying it with him. Idk enough about what actually happened so I'm not gonna sit here and judge. Some people should take that advice.

From the quotes made by said player, sounds like his old man should've slapped him upside the head a few times. That "incident" is in the past. JL still claims he did not hit the kid and he won a good size settlement. But whatever. I, for one, am in wait and see mode with him. Just like I'd be with anyone they hired. And don't forget Tumpkin. I really like his resume'.

I remember my reaction to the Leavitt reports and I was very tough on the guy. But he then won a $3MM lawsuit against USF for wrongful termination. It sounds like his actions with the player weren't at issue, but that the university cut ways over him instructing the program to not tell administrators anything in an investigation he viewed as a witch hunt. Leach at TTU comes to mind.

First off, you're not "hoping" anything like CU becomes a football power again.

Second, the circumstances around that incident are not as clear and convincing as you pretend. 50 witnesses back up Leavitt's version and that poor, alleged "child" victim changed his story so often, that USF was willing to settle Leavitt's lawsuit for $2.75 MILLION.

Third, women and their repeated evo-biological nature of returning to battering husbands, is no analogy here, if you have a functioning brain.

Fourth, it was an MM hire, approved by RG; not vice versa.

Fifth, Dozens of college presidents and AD's are paralyzed by BS leftist, "politically correct" group-think. Exhibit A = Gary Barnett. (whom I don't personally endorse, but he is a a perfect example of a strong, personal reputation in his field, being beaten down by political correctness.)

Sixthe, back to Lame-nation for you, poseur!

Just wanted to add that the University of SF's whole "investigation" was strongly tainted by an element of big money booster/alums who wanted to see Leavitt replaced by then-wunderkind, Skip Holtz---the "Dan Hawkins hot coach" of the moment in the SE/FLA area. Firing Leavit for "cause" would have saved USF about $8 million from not having to buy out Leavitt's remaining contract, in order to put Holtz in place.

Geez everybody is allowed to make a mistake. Maybe he took it too far, idk? I haven't read about it, remember it happening, and I've seen worse at times. I get it's a different day and age. What's the best way to learn than ****ing up? I'm sure the guy has thought plenty about it.

5 years (4 of which he was employed by Jim Harbaugh), 10 years.. I mean who is counting anyway.

Leave it up to cu/2x. Leavitt has paid his crime. We forgive. You don't forget but you forgive. That's what a good human figures out. I was once angry at everything. We get your MO, throw **** at everything and then run. Cheer up Charlie, give me a smile, 2015 is going to be CUs year.
