I get that. Wisconsin I get. PSU I do not.

PSU should be nowhere near the top 10 based on football accomplishments in 2016. They had a few lucky breaks to beat OSU...a game they lose 9 of 10 times. They are otherwise able to beat up on the middling to lower tier BIG10 teams.

There are 8 ranked teams with two loses that are considered a less good football team than a two loss PSU. But PSU has tradition and a deep love from those who remember PSU as the epitome of an EAST COAST football power. What is beyond despicable is the CFP committee and the associated press still give favor to PSU based on the tradition built by JoePa...a tradition that survived only by covering up the RAPE OF CHILDREN. PSU is given the benefit of the doubt when a team like CU (like Oklahoma, like Louisville, like Houston, like ...) is given the doubt before the benefit.

There was only one 'death sentence' ever given out in college football. That was to SMU for blatantly paying players. It has taken SMU almost 40 years to move beyond that. Alabama and USC were given sanctions that shut down the success of there programs for five plus years....all for recruiting and player benefit violations. For alleged recruiting indiscretions, CU effectively shut its program down for a decade. What has happened to PSU for not only failing to prevent, but for turning a blind eye to the RAPE OF CHILDREN by its football staff and within its football facilities? They have been able to effectively maintain the success they were having prior to the scandal. They have successfully appealed most of the sanctions they were ever given by claiming that violations were criminal in nature and not of the sort adjudicated by the NCAA. Now they want to put this episode behind them? This is incomparably worse than ****bailer! It is incomparably worse than anything that has EVER been wrong in college football.

If PSU makes it to the college football playoffs there will be hell to pay. They are ranked 128th.

If ASU actually loses at UA, they'd go from a 5-1 start to not reaching bowl eligibility. Would there be a single bigger collapse in college football this season?
In terms of sheer wins and losses it would have to be up there. In terms of a missed opportunity I think Utah would be included in the conversation. After seizing on a disorganized USC to grab pole position in the South, they lose to Washington on a punt return. Lose to Cal at the goal line. Lose to a terrible Oregon at home with everything on the line.
Its up to us to put them out of their misery.

Wilner is a gem. He's below 50% vs the spread this year, but he's very interesting and unbiased. Wish we had such a writer who covered CFB here.
