Karl Dorrell officially named Colorado HC

He does not have the perspective, experience, grooming, mentors, exposure, Rolodex, leadership skills, or gravitas of a coach ready to be a HC. He would never generate the kind of atmosphere Mel Tucker did here. And he wouldn’t get a whiff at other programs similar to CU in tier and stature. I want something better
Oh, Great Legend-in-yer-own-Mind, just how does YOU know these things? As if a 33-year old Lincoln Riley had all those things of which you speak??

Lincoln Riley had loads of gravitas because he was the hand-picked chosen one at a blue blood program. OU’s history and budget made it possible for him to hire badass assistants. We don’t have much of either here.

Luke Fickell just turned down a school that just poached our coach by offering him double every relevant number he knows. Start being realistic.
You have to believe Fickell is seeing what they are paying Tucker and wondering if he made a huge mistake. No way that deal was originally offered to Fickell or he’d be their coach right now, but he’s probably asking his agent WTF bro??

No. Fickell knows MSU is run by morons right now and in a pickle with lawsuits and sanctions maybe coming down the pike. Also, their division is rough

Anyone who is ok with what Mel did, is a shady mother ****er and should be as trusted as much ad him.
You are an idiot. In the unlikely event you’re ever offered a $14 million raise, go ahead and send me your declination letter.

Edit: $18,250,000 is the actual number. $33mm over 6 years compared to $14.75mm over 5 years. Clown college for buffs14 - definitely not a graduate of Colorado.

Fickell didn't sell his soul for more money. He said he turned down the job because of "campus culture". MSU has a revolving door of scummy presidents, has an AD that has no experience in athletics among other problems.

Having said that, we aren't the dirtbags MSU is, but nobody is going to confuse our support level for SEC level, either.

My problem isnt the fact he left. My problem is the fact that he's been lying his ass off on the way out the door.

I stick to my word and do what I say I will do. Work my contract and make the choice after. Glad to know doing what I say I will do makes me an idiot.
You’re obviously not good enough to be recruited. You’re someone who just does middling work hoping not to get fired. Mel Tucker is getting over $18 million more than what he was going to get at Colorado. That is not an amount of money any rational person would decline. You’re obviously one of the irrational ones.

I guess the most disappointing thing to me is the low expectations that CU fans have for the Program. If Chev is the standard then we might as well pack it in.

RG has to go out and find the right guy. It may not be easy but he is out there.

I honestly don’t know if Coach Chev has what it takes to be a head coach at a major program but there is no slam dunk hire (Urban Meyer isn’t coming through that door).

But not a lot of people loved the Ogeron hire at LSU, in fact some ESPN talking heads called him the worst hire the year he was hired and wasn’t head coach material. That worked out okay for LSU.

And it worked largely because they recruited well and he hired good assistants.

Again, not predicting that but just because someone doesn’t come in with national media fanfare doesn’t mean they won’t eventually be successful.
