Karl Dorrell officially named Colorado HC

Sources have indicated that CU hoped to speak with (in no particular order) Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, former Wisconsin and Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema, Central Michigan head coach Jim McElwain, Alabama offensive coordinator SteveSarkisian, Arkansas State head coach Blake Anderson, Cal head coach Justin Wilcox, as well as current interim head coach Darrin Chiaverini

Where is this from?

I'm guessing we've been turned down a few times considering where we are on that list.

Wilcox

He earned $2.8 million, bonuses included, in 2018, and his extension puts his 5-year contract at $14 million in salary and $1.9 million in retention bonuses. Wilcox’s base salary will actually go down in 2019, to $2.5 million, but then move to $3.05 million in 2020, $3.3 million in ’21, $3.450 million in ’22 and, finally, $3.6 million in 2023.

Wilcox would be awesome, but I'm not getting my hopes up there. Unless those reports were actually accurate that RG was going to match what MSU was offering? What is he sitting on the magic money pile and just holding off?

Sark seems realistic and awesome. Glad to hear he's in play. The other threads I've stumbled upon today had me thinking it was some kind of nightmare with Bielema, McElewein, or Chev.

I think Wilcox only makes sense if we a) found the magic money tree and b) the budget problems at Cal struck again. But apart from that he probably has Cal in a situation after year 3 that we expected or would've been really happy with with Tucker (5-7, 7-6, 8-5).

Poised to be a 9-10 win team in 2020 as well.

Wilcox
Sark
Anderson
EB
Chev

In that order.

Speculation if Sark to Buffs as HC, Freeze to Baba as OC, replacing Sark.

Edit: Oops, you said where, not what.

Finebaum is a goober, but he's pretty well connected down there. If he's throwing that out, RG and LC have had some contact with Sark and his people.

Anderson is a good dark horse, in my opinion. He should hope he interviews after Bielema, he'll look real impressive, polar opposite human beings. Record might not blow you away but he'd win people over quickly, not sure about his recruiting.
