Mangino, then Leach, now Leavitt. Interesting year for football coaches.
Did anyone here ever have something like this happen on the football field? The worst thing that ever happened to me is my coach grabbed my facemask and tugged it and told me to pull my head out of my ass.
My HS football coach used to slap us in the side of the helmet, hard, and that doesn't feel to good. It also makes your ears ring for an hour or so. If you argued or got into it with a teammate at practice, we had to box each other in front of the team. He pulled face masks to line you up in the right spots. Boy do I miss those days. :boxing:
That facemask grab thing is right out on the high school level...I do enjoy the occassional whistle whip where I smack my whistle on their helmet...that rings a bit and gets their attention.
I didnt realize we were playing tiddly-winks these days.

Back in the rough and tumble 1980's we called it being coaching up. :yell:

This country is getting soft.. Eventually all the football coaches will be a bunch of soft Dan Hawkins types.
So you're saying that CU is ahead of the curve? :wink2:

Obviously that technique didn't work. You're probably the reason it's frowned upon these days.
