Did you have us penciled in for beating UCLA on the road in the season prediction thread? In a clear situation to me where we had the talent and opportunities to win a big conference road game in front of the LA recruiting hotbed, this one was more painful than the losses we've had for years.
It sucked when we lost games with inferior talent, but we were only hoping to win. We overachieved last year and lost to teams with far superior athletes.
I rank this up there with Hawkins blowing a 28 point lead in Kansas.

Beat the spread I guess.I never claim to know what's going to happen before the season starts. I didn't make a prediction.
Were we favored? No. Should we have won? Easily.
This is the most painful loss you can remember?
UCLA's O and D lines are more talented than ours; that is our biggest issue. We can not win games with better or equal skill positions and inferior big men.My biggest issue was that they are not more talented that we are. But both O and D lines had a certain meanness in this particular game that we didn’t have. When they needed a yard, they got it. When we needed it, we lost a yard. Wen they needed a catch by their receiver, they got it. When we needed it, we dropped it. There were equal bone headed play calls and penalties. They just overcame better. And that is a mental thing.
I think Jaximus is only 3 or 4 years old, so it makes sense. This is the most painful loss you can remember?
It was a terrible idea since it didn’t work. Maybe it was just a bad idea period. But I sort of liked it - (the idea, not the play) - there was probably some thought that we were in the underdog position at UCLA, Rosen might take off in the 2nd half, and that a major psychological boost for us might turn the tables. Whatever, it was a gamble and MM lost. So we all lost. Can anyone explain to me the fake fg at the end of the first half? You are down 1 point going into half at that point. You know you are in a dog fight, so why not take the points? MM has never done this before and don't understand it. Even if you get the touchdown, I still don't understand the call when you get the ball to begin the second half.

I would toss in 1988 when JJ dropped the ball as well. The losses to nebraska in 96,97,98,99,and 00 were worse by a landslide.

I was there and can still see that play in my nightmares. Still can't believe we lost 7-0. On the plus side, I took our revenge on the city of Lincoln that night.I would toss in 1988 when JJ dropped the ball as well.
Jaximus, Please step away from the ledge. I know how you must feel.
You can jump if you still feel this way in about one year.
94. We’re national champions without that loss. The losses to nebraska in 96,97,98,99,and 00 were worse by a landslide.

Montana State?
Those two were painful in a different sort of way. Like ‘why didn’t I take a hike in the beautiful Fall Colorado mountains instead of subjecting myself to several hours of utter humiliation?’
