MacIntyre is different

Was this one person's perspective, or multiple?

This was one player's perspective. He spoke in general terms at times, where he was seemingly speaking for the collective group, but it was one just person's opinion. Obviously, every player has varying experiences based on position, playing time, circumstance, etc. as well.

Reminded me of Mr. Spradling's posts. I just checked up on Dylan and looks like he walked on at ASU now?

There is something to be said for new blood.

When RG and HCMM came on board, the culture changed for the better thanks to new blood.

When Leavett joined, a new infusion of ideas has us excited. His addition is great.

The President and Chancellor are the opposite of new blood. They've been around forever and aren't exactly millennial savvy.

Daddyball recruiting is not new blood.

Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush are not new blood.

Sure continuity and nepotism happen and sometimes works out. But it's never a guarantee for success and always comes with an aroma that is displeasing to some noses.
RG is the best thing to happen to the Football program, and the Athletic Dep't as a whole, in decades. But remember, RG did not hire MM, so in RG's eyes MM is not viewed as new blood. My opinion is that Leavitt is twice the coach of HCMM, and RG knows that.

I agree that there is more pressure on HCMM to win this year than most people would like to admit. We need to couple facility momentum with winning to get this bitch turned around.

Coaches come and go. At this point I am indifferent to MacIntyre. This view will change if he delivers the wins.

The man was dealt a bad hand, and is making steps to turn this ship around. RG's public comments about MacIntyre have been nothing but supportive. We wouldn't have Leavett if not for MacIntyre's relationship that was formed in the Bay Area.

It makes sense to reserve judgement on the SJSU turnaround specialist until he delivers a turnaround in Boulder. If he takes CU to a bowl this year, he'll win me over.

If the players show improvement and the Buffs end up at 5-8, he gets my thumbs up for a year 4. But if we go winless in the conference again, then support will dry up pretty quickly.

It would be petty to want CU to lose under Mac in order to get another coach. It just makes sense to give Mac support in 2015 and wish for the best.

Any anti-Mac rhetoric a couple weeks before opening day is some serious turd-in-the-punchbowl quality posting. Timing is everything.

Naw, I usually lurk on RalphieReport, but its pretty dead over there. I need to take out my Buff Angst somewhere, before my wife leaves me.

Yeah. There was some bad info posted as FACT by some people in relation to RG, HCMM and the JL hire. Suggestions that it was RG's relationship and forced upon HCMM (not true). Saying that RG issued an ultimatum that he would fire HCMM if the Buffs didn't go bowling this year (mischaracterization of RG saying that a bowl game is the expectation for this season).

Anyway, some people here are a little sensitive to that stuff getting repeated since it's stuff that should die a quick death.

But in terms of the other stuff, I do believe that HCMM's seat does get very hot if there isn't tangible improvement this season with results and drawing fannies into the seats. It's a tough spot. On the one hand, CU can't afford to go back to square one with another rebuild again. On the other hand, CU can't afford to lose fan, booster and student interest beyond where it has already bottomed out to. Basically -- we really need HCMM to win this season and make it so that we don't need to have this discussion. Program's in a really bad spot if it we see something like 3 or 4 wins this season.

Welcome to the board.

The original post is another "MacIntyre is Great" stuff that we hear from time to time. To me he is boring. But that really makes no difference...the bottom line is I will love him if he wins. I don't care how the coach talks or if you think he is straight shooter - a lot of people were in love with Hawkins after two seasons (remember that is when Bohn gave him the extension). I have seen a lot of coaches go through CU and they have different personalities. The question is can they be successful at CU - so far MacIntyre has not been successful but he has time to turn that around.

Yeah. The 2 most charismatic guys we've had on the podium have been Neuheisel and Hawkins. The only excitement I need from a media address comes in the form of discussing a win. Heck, Patriots fans are just fine with Belichick pressers. At the end of the day, all that matters to any fan base is the bottom line.

Just win, Buffy.

- Press conference demeanor
- Official visits during season or after season
- Number of open practices
- Timing of spring practices
- Coaching staff hires & retention
- Recruiting
- 90% of off-field incidents
- GPA, APR
- Gameday haircut, visor and shirt selection
- Etc, etc., etc.

All things that most fans will not care about if we're seeing wins.

twas a mere nap.

Over the weekend, Nikita and I were looking through our digital photo album of pics of our little guy from when he was a toddler... and that pic was in there. Definitely more than a nap. Still a good teaching tool we were able to use to reinforce the lesson on the dangers of "too much beer". :D

Post it again. Just put a spoiler tag so no one else can see it.

Nope. We don't post pics of other members on the site. If someone chooses to post a pic of him/herself, that's their business. But this is kind of an important rule in terms of "worlds colliding" and potential professional life ramifications.

That's me after the 2010 Hawaii game...taking a "nap"

Edit: never mind, I see you were talking to BP

Thank you. I was actually hoping you had finally lost the photo...
