As a CU alum I'm done. Unsubscribed from all their mailing lists and told them to stop calling me for donations.
Yeah, I'll still watch football.
And fix Allbuffs if it breaks. Please.

You’re free to do whatever you want, but I personally think this is a time when CU needs us to step up, not abandon them. CU was around long before Mark Kennedy, and it will be around long after he’s gone. It’s much, much bigger than one person. As a CU alum I'm done. Oh. I'm still a CU football fan. I've invested to much time watching ****ty football to bail now. We are on the rise. And fix Allbuffs if it breaks. Please.

So your politics are more important than the school? Aren't you doing exactly what people are accusing the Regents of doing? As a CU alum I'm done. Unsubscribed from all their mailing lists and told them to stop calling me for donations.

Yep. That's it exactly. So your politics are more important than the school? Aren't you doing exactly what people are accusing the Regents of doing?

I’ve been there too.
CU, I should quit you, but I can’t.
What if Kennedy turns out to be a good President?
I’m as disgusted as anybody over this. It was a mess from the get go. But if he turns out to be good for CU, don’t we have to acknowledge the Regents who put him there?
I’m highly skeptical, but I’m willing to wait and see.
I’m totally out of the loop. What’s everyone upset about?
If Ilana Spiegel is elected, say goodbye to Rick George. She is on the same page and was endorsed by Lesley Smith, who hates CU football. What's missing in the inane comments here is that John Carson is a big supporter of CU football!
This has become a 100% partisan issue - with Spiegel, Linda Shoemaker, Lesley Smith, Irene Griego and Jack Kroll, that's a 5-4 vote to end all support for CU football from the CU Board of Regents. In that case, 4 republicans supporting CU football, 5 democrats opposing it.
Read Adam's Board - if John Carson is not reelected, it's a big issue for CU football.
Hmm. There are two ways to take that.Lol CU football isn’t going anywhere.
I think if a few Regents had their way, the entire athletic department would be disbanded. That’s not an exaggeration. Thing is, he’s right when he says it’s the Democrats on the board who feel that way. I have no idea why they feel like athletics is contrary to their view on how how the University should be operated. Remember, Kroll and Griego voted against Tickers contract even though they know its not paid from school operating funds. They did it because they thought that money could be spent better elsewhere (even though it was pointed out to them that that money isn’t available elsewhere). The problems we have with the Republicans who gave us Kennedy are similar to the problems we have with the Democrats who seemingly want to eliminate athletics.Lol CU football isn’t going anywhere.
And Kroll and Shoemaker should be voted off. They are awful.I think if a few Regents had their way, the entire athletic department would be disbanded. That’s not an exaggeration. In other words, the system for choosing University leadership is FUBAR.

The good news is that Kroll likely tries to jump to another office soon.... But Allbuffs endorsed Lucky Vidmar (and he almost won), so Kroll didn't have a lot of support here, that's for sureI don’t disagree. Merely pointing out the fact that the Regents who clearly come down on the anti-athletics spectrum are Democrats. That’s not debatable. And good luck unseating either of those incumbents. The time to defeat them was in the primaries, and that didn’t happen.
I live in HR and am a pro-athletics Democrat. Anyone want to fund my campaign??
I'm in too.I would donate
Ganahl would be the one regent I could see my way to continuing to support. She does not appear to play politics the way that the others do and she is an advocate (rather than just an ally) for athletics.I just hope Ganahl sticks around. She is the only one who opens up about anything (her podcast with Adam was very revealing and I respect her for telling us fans) and fully supports the athletic department because she realizes the reality of the costs there. I don't think people are saying that there aren't democrats that support college athletics, there are a couple currently at CU, but it does seem like a lot of them that get positions at CU use their anti athletics agenda more often than other schools.
She supports athletics, for sure, which I appreciate..... But she plays politics as much as anyone on the board and is a primary driver for the Kennedy fiasco.Ganahl would be the one regent I could see my way to continuing to support. She sent one tweet about Polis, and it wasn’t even anything wrong or harsh. Not voting for her would be a bad move for us CU fans. She supports athletics, for sure, which I appreciate..... But she plays politics as much as anyone on the board and is a primary driver for the Kennedy fiasco.
I voted for her last time. Won't vote for her again
Why would you play with fire by removing one of the only true pro-athletic Regents from the board? She supports athletics, for sure, which I appreciate..... But she plays politics as much as anyone on the board and is a primary driver for the Kennedy fiasco.

Because I personally have more vested interest in CU than athletics, and Ganahl is part of the overall BoR issue. Why would you play with fire by removing one of the only true pro-athletic Regents from the board?
