The Buff soccer team is starting off conference with a challenging tilt against the #1 UCLA Bruins at Prentup Field Friday starting at 3:30 PM. (The Buffs are receiving the 33rd most votes (11) in the most recent coaches' poll.) The Buffs did defeat the Bruins, also in Boulder, 1-0 last season, and are 2-7 lifetime against them.

Go Buffs!

(Note- looks like this is a year where the team only has 5 conference home matches vs. 6 away. Also, with the odd (11) number of opponents in conference, this is one of of only weekends where the Buffs only play one match during the Pac part of the season.)

Not sure if it's THE preview article for the match from cubuffs.com, but the following linked to article does include a "Scouting UCLA" section, so assume it might be-

There's also a nice preview/ review of the season to date article entitled "Reinvigorated offense bolstering an already stout defense for CU soccer" (written by Justin Guerrero) available at the CU Independent website - https://cuindependent.com/2017/09/1...olstering-an-already-stout-defense-for-buffs/

Buffs with the first shot of the match, but just wide of the net.

Great defense by the Buffs to take away the scoring chance from UCLA in the box

UCLA starting to control the play over the last several minutes. Hopefully, the Buffs can regain some momentum.

Looks like UCLA got away with a handball in the box that could have tied it for the Buffs

And that's going to end any opportunity for CU to tie this up as UCLA scores to go up 2-0 with 5 minutes left

Heartbreaker- Kornieck clangs one HARD off the post from around 12 yards out after a great pass.

Sounds like we weren't overmatched. UCLA better, but Buffs are legitimate.
