The Buffs pretty much "parked the bus" for the match which made it very difficult for UCLA to get quality shots off in the first half. Eventually they broke the Buffs down for a goal. What surprised me a bit was that once the Bruins scored CU still stayed back and looked reluctant to commit many players to the attack.
Because CU chose to defend with numbers they had trouble getting many players in the attacking third and thus their chances were limited. Yes, late in the match and down by the goal Taylor clanged a shot off the cross bar late in the match with the Buffs down two goals.
For the most part the Buffs were on the defensive. When they won the ball they would string together a couple of passes and they would whack the ball up the field only to see it taken back by UCLA. This was the theme of the day.
