Match Thread - Volleyball goes to Lexington KY for Sweet 16 match with #5 Nebraska (Friday, Noon MT)

Tough end to the 1st as ne gets the win 19-25.

Of course, volleyball is WILD game momentum-wise, but would say in the 1st set the Buffs defense having a tough time both with the block and back row. Also, going to have to try and get SOME more swings for the middles and or right-side hitter offensively.

And it's an 11-25 2nd set.

Hopefully the Buffs can re-group over the intermission break.

And 21-25 is the final; Nebraska gets the sweep. Congrats to them- they looked GREAT in every facet of the game.

You could tell in the first few points of set 1 just how good the Huskers were. Wow.

Proud of these Buffaloes - they showed very well getting to the sweet 16. Congrats a fantastic year!

For the Buffs, with big setter questions coming into this season and coming off a 14-16/ 6-14 season, GREAT turnaround for the team.

Thanks SO much to the 3 seniors- Stephanie Shadley has contributed as needed, including as a starting outside hitter last season and serving specialist every year. She, along with Joslyn Hayes, one of the team's main emotional sparks and 5th year senior whose overcome a few injuries to be a starter much of the last couple seasons, and Anna Pfefferle, who I believe has started almost every match from the beginning of her freshman year, have been HUGE contributors for a LONG time to the Buffs turnaround both from last to this season, and from turning the program around overall as it transitioned into the challenging Pac 12. Hope all goes only as they wish the rest of their college careers and beyond!

For the rest of the team, hope they all get rested and healthy, spike finals, and then keep on improving so the Buffs are even better next year!

MEH!
I listened to the match. The Buff womem did well getting to the Sweet 16. They really got a tough draw getting to play Nebraska today. This Nebraska VB team is a cut above most of the rest.

Better save the **** Nebraska comments for the football team where it might do more good.

**** you. **** Nebraska. Die in a fire.

Our Buffs had an outstanding season. In the write-up of the match, Jesse said Gabby Carta-Samuels had an injury catch up with her and couldn't go.

This team loses 3 seniors who will be missed. They have a bunch of great players returning and I'm sure new players coming in will fill the void of those who graduate.

Nebraska was very upset that they did not get a top 4 seed because they are entitled. Unfortunately, CU was on the receiving end of their anger and it wouldn't surprise me if they beat Kentucky.

I see that UCLA got beat today and USC won. We couldn't knock off UCLA this season but we did split with USC who won today. Go Buffs. Rest and heal and we'll see you next season.

Going into this season, I was afraid the squad was too young and the Pac-12 too stacked. I wasn't confident that we'd see the Tourney this year. To go from those expectations to the Sweet 16 is frikin allsome. So proud of this team and feeling so good about the future of this program.

Agree. Jos had been hurt a lot so I wasn't sure what to expect from her. I did not foresee Shadley barely playing. Don't think anyone except maybe Jesse knew what Brynna could do when the season started. That kid learned with each game and look where it took her.

The program is in good hands.

Only two Pac 12 teams left, USC and Stanford.
