Matches Thread- VOLLEYBALL hosts (RV) Georgia (Fri., 9/6/24, 7:00 PM MT), Fresno St. (Sat., 6:00 PM) & (RV) Washington (Sunday, 1:30 PM)

I'm GUESSING today's match may be delayes, at minimum, a little bit, as the Fresno St. - Georia match is only midway through the 4th set.
 
After a delay due to the earlier match going 5 sets, the Buff - Dawg match has just begun.
 
Phew - The Buffs had a rough patch early where they fell behind by 4, then they played strong to take control of the 1st set to lead 23-18, but then have to go extra points to go up 1-0 after a 26-24 1st set.
 
And the Buffs go up 2-0 after another solid set that sees them get the 2nd 25-19.

Note - there was a lineup change ~1/2 way through the 1st half with true frosh Schiff coming in as the opposite (right-side) hitter.

It's going (at least) 4 after Washington gets the 3rd 25-17. The Buffs fell behind at least 8, then closed the score some to give them some chance for the set, but the WA went on a 5 point run to close it out.
 
Buffs make a great effort after going down 9-13 to tie it at 13, but the Huskies end the match with a block, one of TWENTY they were credited with for the match, to get the reverse sweep after a 13-15 5th set.

Still a nice effort overall, and hopefully a good learning experience for the young Buffs.
