The Buffs (8-10, 8-10) look to end the season strong as they are scheduled to travel and face the Trojans (5-9, 5-8) this Thursday and Saturday.

Happy to see that (I'm guessing because they released the below preview) the Buffs must have received good news from USC that at least at this point they think they will be able to play this weekend. (The Trojans had to cancel their last scheduled match at Arizona this past Sunday (https://usctrojans.com/news/2021/3/...lleyball-cancels-second-match-at-arizona.aspx).)

Both matches are scheduled to be on free live streams provided by USC. (See below for the links.)

Go Buffs!!!

BOULDER – Colorado women's volleyball team will have a short week of preparation as they head to take on Southern California this Thursday at 7 p.m. MT and Saturday at 2 p.m. to conclude the 2021 spring regular season.

The Buffs (8-10 Pac-12) are fighting for the chance to finish .500 this season while the Trojans (5-8 Pac-12) are coming off their seventh canceled game this season due to COVID concerns. Prior to Sunday's canceled game at Arizona, USC won a five-setter in Tucson and a five-setter against cross-town rivals UCLA.

SCOUTING THE TROJANS

USC has yet to sweep anyone this season. They lost to Oregon State in the first match of the season and only have four-set wins against the Beavers and Cal. They recently beat UCLA and Arizona in five, both on the road. They also have a plethora of five set losses against ranked opponents, including two against Oregon and one against Utah and Washington.

Brooke Botkin is the Trojan's main weapon at 4.15 points per set and 3.67 kills per set. She is hitting .235 this season and is tied for the team lead with a dozen aces. She is also just three digs off the team lead with 114 and has 17 blocks. USC has three individuals with 30 or more blocks this season.

Live stats (Both matches) -

I will miss having sports available to enjoy. I really enjoy volleyball and women's basketball.

I will watch the volleyball NCAA tournament. Will see if it's the Pac or B1G.

The live stream has begun (with ROUGH sounding audio, at least for me).

Minutes until the opening serve!

Buffs are behind almost the whole 1st set but keep it close, and then comeback late scoring the last 4 to win 26-24.

The Trojans go on a LONG serving run early in the 2nd set to go up 3-12 and, although the Buffs hold their own after that, it's tied 1-1 after USC wins the 2nd 17-25.

Trojans get the match in 4 sets after competitive 3rd and 4th sets in which USC pulls away late in each set (believe it was tied at 19 in the 3rd and 20 all in the 4th).

This was not a very clean match for the Buffs, especially in serve and serve receive (the Buffs used 3 different liberos). Hopefully they can come back strong and take it to the Trojans on Saturday in the season finale for both clubs.

16 service errors. They gave the match to USC.

At one point it was 0 aces and 15 service errors. Have not looked at stats to see if they ever got an ace. Just looked at stats: Not a single ace.

Between that and the horrible USC announcer, the match was difficult to watch. I'm sure he was given a pronunciation guide to the names of the CU players, but he butchered their names. He called Brynna DeLuzio "Briana" the entire match.

He had Savannah Perry playing libero.
