Matt McChesney throws the hammer down - MUST LISTEN

Have to say these hosts are morons though... they think Hawkins got paid more than Barnett did.

Who is the chick who keeps begging McChesney to fire Mike Bohn?
 
Man, his treatment of the Seniors is just out of control. He would get banned from allbuffs for that **** :lol:

I'm with you, though. Love to hear a voice from the former players willing to speak out. One thing that this program instilled in the men from the glory days is character. Being able to say that you ****ed up, you accept accountability and you're taking charge to fix it is a character trait I respect the most. Losing that attitude during the Hawkins era is one of the big things that the former players were so pissed off about and why they felt so strongly that an in-house hire needed to be made in order to fix that. Right idea. Not working. Need to move on.

Completely agree. But McChesney has different standing to be able to call people out than does 'random internet poster'. From the right source, it's probably a message that players need to hear. We're not the right source, but as a former leader of a Buffs locker room, he is.

Well I don't like calling them "cowards", football is a violent physically intense sport and I don't think anyone that puts a helmet and shoulder pads on should be referred to as cowards...do we have some bad players, absolutely, but I don't like the use of the word "coward"...

He also indicated he was tired of hearing people blame things on Hawkins.

So at what age can you call people out on performing like ****? I understand they chose to be Buffs, have school and other stuff to deal with along with football... but an 18 year old in still considered an adult and should not be coddled anymore. I don't see a damn thing wrong with saying so and so play like **** and should sit his ass on the bench for the rest of the season if that is true. Matt was in the same position as those kids and I'd say that gives him every right to criticize them. **** this pc bull****.
 
He didn't pull any punches there. Also talked about the fact that he was a proud member of Buffs4Life. Ought to be really interesting next time he sees JE at a gathering!

PS - I agree with pretty much everything he said. JE is in over his head, the alumni were wrong to back him, and change needs to be made sooner rather than later.

Lewis and Floorwax have made a great career for themselves by being complete morons. Kathy Lee is the chick...she's been with them for what seems like thousands of years now.
They are unbearable morning show hosts, but they're popular for some reason.
 
Love to hear a former player admitting that it was the alum, former players and boosters that all pushed the hire and admitting that he was wrong to do it.

The problem is I don't expect Bohn or CU to do anything about it.

This. This is what the players need to hear and to an extent the staff and the type of person they need to hear it from.
 
Competitors aren't considered nice, sometimes they are jerks. SOmebody needs to get the point across...the staff isn't doing it and the team isn't getting it done. Period. You wanted to be on TV? You wanted to play big time CFB? You want a shot at the League? But don't criticize me, I might cry. That ain't the way the world works.

Totally agree. These "kids" are old enough to vote and go to war and half of them can drink. They get their highlights on ESPN, their pictures in the paper and the cover of magazines. I never understood this need to avoid criticizing players when it's valid. College is where you begin to learn about real life, right? Well real life can be harsh.

This. Sac State is considered "low" among their division. Fresno is rebuilding, only have 65 schollies, and we all know what CSU's reputation is.

1st of all, I am SO glad I was fishing this weekend and beyond cell range. Had an amazing Saturday! I laughed my ass off reading about the game yesterday.

As for Matt, loved what he had to say. He worked his ass off as a Buff and I respect his opinions greatly.

This is an organizational failure. Top to bottom.

I very much agree with his recommendation to sit the seniors' asses on the bench and let them watch. I can't understand the team quitting. It cannot stand. Might as well bench the coaches too I guess.

How can this be fixed? The only thing that can be done is burning the entire thing to the ground. Fire everyone! Yes, my opinion in this matter has changed rapidly, but how could it not after all this? Bohn may be the only person to survive because he was overruled for this hiring and hasn't done too bad of a job IMO. Start the search now secretly so that ASAP our new coach can work on recruiting. We need a big name and expensive coach and staff who will have demands that must be met. I don't care how many 2013 commits we lose, that is less important. I'd hate to lose Liufau and Parsons, but I'd rather CU had some better OL commits. Although we'll go winless this year, I do think that CU's youth can be attractive to a big name coach.

But aren't Embree, EB, Cabral, Khanavis, etc all former leaders of a Buff's locker room. I do not agree that just because he is a former Buff that gives him more latitude in "attacking players" than a fan. I appreciate his perspective and since he has been there done that it give him more credibility but I thought he was a little over the top on attacking specific players. He also talked about the 4 seniors on defense but ignored that 2 of them were not playing. And I do not think he is the right source for the players to here from when he is just calling them out from the cheap seats like the "random Internet poster."
