Feel bad for White.
This. Feel bad for White. He and XJ (when he feels like it) are the only ones who ever do anything or seem to care. Rest of the team plays scared and just stands around and watches or dribbles around looking to pass it off. Don't know if you can fault Tad for that but overall its been a weird season and there is just something off. I think we really miss Josh's leadership

This team is pathetic. It's getting comical at this point. How do you lose a game that you were up by 17 in? That zone d at the end was garbage. Fultz broke it down the same exact way two times in a row and Tad stuck with it.

Bad basketball team. Tad can't coach on game day. Can't recruit. Can't develop players. 39-30 since Dinwiddie got hurt. 2/3 seasons with no NCAA tourney..cuz we aint going this year. Are Tads best days behind him?

****ing pathetic. Blow a 17 point second half lead.

We've got to be close to leading the country in five plus minute no field goal or scoreless stretches the past 3 years.

I'm behind Tad 100%. The guy must (oops, almost said "be pulling his hair out) be totally frustrated. He doesn't deserve this. There is just not a single leader on this team. I love White, but he is just really quiet. There is not a single vocal guy that I can see. Maybe XJ is the one guy.

I think he deserves it. He had 4 years to get a big guy or true point guard and failed.

What's a bit unnerving about the incoming class is it's still full of wings. Our best year was with a dominant point guard as the leader. Our second best year was with a dominant big man as the leader.

As a fan, I'm so frustrated at this point that it's probably best to let things play out. Hopefully we throw the young guys into the fire even more to start building for next year.

We've had bad years in the past 10, but it never felt quite like this ... even that CBI year. Who are we guaranteed to beat? I'm not sure if anybody. WSU got cornholed tonight by Utah ... and I could totally see us losing there Saturday.

Id say he can definitely recruit. He has brought in a bunch of good players. He has struck out on big men outside of Josh though.

My problem with Tad is all philosophy/scheme.

There are NO NBA-caliber players on the roster that he recruited..minus perhaps White...a guy that developed his skills under a different coach. His offensive scheme is pass the ball around the perimeter then go one on one with 5 seconds left on shot clock..

With so much unknown after this year, this program could be in trouble. Like our class coming in, but plenty of touted recruits go tits up. I feel like I'm staring into the abyss with this team. I don;t see a lot from Peters or Brown that makes me optimistic.

Next year will be worse. We will be feeling the full effect of three straight recruiting class misses. Just complete bombs.

And another point, I'd sure like Fletcher, Hopkins and Thomas right about now. I think any of them would be equal to if not better than now. Running them off was probably a mistake.

So like about 300+ other teams we dont have an NBA guy... Got it.

Tad gets paid in the top 32 coaches in America..and we have finished in the top 32 exactly ONCE...problem?

He's the best coach CU has had. Has had unprecedented success at this basketball black hole. Doesn't get much support from the current AD. A couple down years is understandable and firing him may yield worse results than with him. Stay the course cause it's gonna be much worse next year. Build for 2018/2019.

Hey, Im in the group that firmly believes Tad has a lot to prove, and many of his moves leave a lot to be desired.

This line of thinking irritates the **** out of me. Are we ok just being better than we were, or do we want to be good?

LOL what? Fletch is the only one I miss. Hopkins was an athlete not a basketball player, something 99% yourself included knocked him for and Thomas was an absolute headcase

I do like Tad Boyle and I feel that he is a good HC. I understand the feelings of "are his best days behind him"though. This season is a culmination of a couple of things. Let me explain ...

#1 - Not fulfilling future foreseen gaps
I understand that Tad has tried to fill the PG gap on a few occasions, but the players (Hopkins and Collier) just didn't or haven't come around. Hopkins of course transferred out but Collier remains more of a "serviceable" guard. A good player and pretty good shooter but just has never come around to expectations. As for fulfilling Scott's shoes, Tad has not been able to recruit a serious high level post player or two and is now having to rely on two "serviceable" forwards (Gordon and Miller) who together still don't seem to match the overall talent and leadership Josh Scott brought to the table. Let's be honest.

#2 - 2 year gap in recruiting
When I go back and look at recruiting from 2014 and 2015, I see a flawed two year gap within recruiting. I first of all see two serviceable players -at best- in Collier and Miller (2014 class). Furthermore, the team really got nothing from their 2015 class. Akyazili has contributed very little and is really almost a non-factor at this point. Follow that up with this year, where you're getting a few decent minutes from Brown and Peters, but certainly nothing that stands out. This -to me- is a serious problem. Where are the players?! Good lord!

#3 - Other Pac-12 teams passing up Colorado
Meanwhile the rest of the top teams within this conference are suddenly now bringing in serious talent, or most importantly, are getting more out of their young players right away. It's silly to watch CU getting surpassed like this.

This line of thinking irritates the **** out of me. Are we ok just being better than we were, or do we want to be good?

I agree with you whole heartedly here. CU is NO longer considered a "black hole" for basketball. Regardless of this season, they're still considered one of the best programs in the Pac-12. They've made the NCAA tourney 4 of 6 years, and it is known NOW as being a quality place for basketball. I don't know where the current AD stands with promoting the sport but I have noticed diminishing crowds and seemingly overall support for the basketball program. Things were far different under Mike Bohn but then football took a major spill and we can't have that. I don't understand why it is so hard to find a good AD that can drum up major support and enthusiasm for all programs.

Anyway, I agree that if things continue down this current path, into next year, we could potentially be looking at a coach teetering on the hot seat. No Joke! And there are many good basketball coaches out there who would be very interested in the job. CU has good facilities now. It's a campus where a lot of kids would love to come play. They can have a very good home court advantage when things are good, and they play in one of the best conferences. It would be a very intriguing place for many coaches.

17 point lead

I agree. Good teams/programs, with good coaching and good sharp players, don't blow 17 point leads to teams like UW. This is yet another game [that's 3 now, for sure] that CU very well should have taken care of and tucked away. Damn it!

It appears that this team does not have the conditioning they need to close out games. Why the hell is that?

Very frustrating season, in fact, I will say the most frustrating basketball season since I became a CU fan in the 70's as a kid. Sure we've had worse teams, but then we knew they were bad. This team, well I had such lofty expectations, so the ineptitude really bothers me. I had all these expectations for what Tad would do with a team that he built, but none of it has happened. Tad earned our trust with what he has done. Now, for two of the last three years he is whittling that trust away. I do think CU should stay the course, but another season like this next year and his seat will get very, very hot.
On a side note, the athletic department called me yesterday and asked if I wanted any extra tickets to the hoops games....it was SO hard not to just bust out laughing.
