Mike MacIntyre officially fired effective immediately

It's getting toxic RG...When your first words are your offense was inept...you suck. You are making 3 mil a year...and two weeks in a row YOUR team **** themselves in the second half...you FAILED. I would not have extended that clown in 16...his team was not competitive the last 2 games...were an embarrassment. He is burning alot of bridges right now...can him already RG
.

I always felt MM had his share of fault in the 2016 PAC12 championship/bowl game swoon. He was so busy flying around the country picking up his awards he ignored the team without really giving anyone the keys. Didn't he miss a whole bunch of practices? Then JL jumps, then Tumpkin.... It's always been about MM first. Yeah yeah, I get the awards are important to him and CU, but in hindsight it sure didn't help recruiting that much. Neither did the 1 year window we had with the champions center. Opportunity lost.

This is on point.

Yep, and he mishandled the Tumplin situation, and was indignant about it.

Good man? I guess, but when the chips are down, it’s about him. That was a bad sign. Maybe upgrade your staff, but he never liked that part of the job.

This moment in mac’s tenure is where my eyes opened a bit to his flaws. He clearly was not clean in that whole situation, I felt the university charted a good path forward for admin, ad and coach. All toed the line but Mac who refused to concede anything on his reputation . Showed cracks of the fissure he’s busted open the past few weeks refusing to take ownership of anything, pointing fingers at injuries, offense, defense, CU’s program over past 20 years and inability to land the dream jobs he’s wanted to desperately leave.

Rg and the admin promised to commit resources to take the football program from an after thought to next level. You cannot keep MM with the trend this program has been on. Everything going in the wrong direction. Recruiting is not improving, the coaches don’t show any ability to lift the game up of the kids they have and we’re to the excuse making stage by Mac. Keeping him around will tank the program again. Say thanks for sort of stabilizing us, now it’s time to get difference maker at coach who can lift the program up.

Hey Coach Mac, congrats on a very successful financial move these past several years, now move along peacefully to the next great adventure. We need a a coach, and a real program. Is it BBall season yet..... Why yes is is!

Depth?
We have enough depth to win 8 games despite the injuries!
These coaches do not work hard enough or have enough faith to see if we have depth.
Would love to watch more of their practices!
MM said they do not hit during regular season practices, is that true?
Our starters play to many snaps and cannot be fresh enough to play at full speed.
There have to be snaps available for guys like Fontenot, Lee, Arias, Rakestraw (earlier in the year), Falo, Van Deist, Jones, etc... give them a snap here and there, and run up the f-ing score once in a while to help with developing more depth!
MM talking about experience for Noyer or Lytle was pretty insincere considering the handoff only offense he demanded in late game situations.
I call BS

Colorado AD Rick George wants to hire a recognizable name with previous head-coaching experience, according to sources. Possible candidates include former Oregon coach and Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich, Fresno State coach Jeff Tedford, Boise State coach Bryan Harsin and West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen, who may be interested in making a move after the season.

Dana Holgorsen? Sign me up if we can get that one done.

Sweet. No offence to Mac whom until yesterday I had much respect, but the man is due 10mn so I don't care about his hurt feelings. We need a bad ass HC to take us back to being in contention for conference championships and maybe once every 5-10 years make a run at the natty too. HCMM is clearly not that man.

Helfrich - no thanks
Tedford - maybe
Harsin - sorry, too many bad connotations
Holgersen - seriously? Okay, if you say so

Mac in numbers
  • 0-19 v ranked teams when being unranked or lower ranked
  • 5-39 as an underdog with one win coming with a spread of 4 or larger (against a 4-8 Oregon in 2016)
  • One of 4 P5 teams to not have beaten a higher ranked team since 2013 together with Illinois, Rutgers and Kansas
