Most disapointing UNIT on team?

Just curious ?

For me it is Running Backs

chicken/egg? Line or running backs - I have seen teams with bad lines run the ball when you have a great back. Really have not seen the one guy step up this year.

CU needs to go get that RB that can come in and run the ball, great vision and can make the cutbacks, explode to the line and be a home run threat every hand off or screen

I don't know how you can say anything re: the running backs. To me - there is enough work to know if they are good, or not. None of the RB's get enough carries to say whether any of them are any good, or not.

Adkins got 16 carries against CSU. He only got 5 against UMASS. 2 against ASU. 1 against Hawaii. 6 against Cal.
Tony Jones only got 4 rushes against CSU, 7 against UMASS, 5 against ASU, 4 against Hawaii, and then 13 against Cal.
Phillip Lindsay got 2 carries against CSU, 7 carries against UMASS, 9 carries against ASU, 8 carries against Hawaii, and back to 2 against Cal.

There's absolutely no rhyme or reason to how the RB's are played. There's zero emphasis on establishing a running game.

I don't think it is just the coaching staff issue, either. I think it's the entire coaching philosophy.

I didn't see the Cal game, but from what I can gather, special teams basically cost us the game. I freaking hate when that happens. Inexcusable.

It wasn't even the coverage teams which was weird. It was probably the two most consistently decent performers on the team over the past 3 years. It was weird.

Way I see it. 21 Cal points from a total of what, 160 yards of total offense on three drives in the third quarter.

kickoff coverage #1 by far.
kickoff return #2 by far.

Running game (it's a system, not a position)

special teams were not ...

shanked punt gave Cal the ball at CU 45
next posession ball at mid-midfield due to poor coverage
3 missed FGs (all were within easy range)

Most disappointing...meaning not meeting preseason expectations? Tied between RB and LB. I had them both down as solid, but not necessarily great. Their play this year has been substandard.

Pleasantly surprised by the DL. I thought they'd be the weak link in the D, but after a rough start, they are playing respectably.

Fans.

Seriously, a thread to exclusively complain? Bleh. I don't mind discussing the problems with the team, and there are many, but a thread focused exclusively on the negative? No thanks.

Are you saying you suspect BuffUp may have some experience with disappointing units? Instigator.

Quit being so negative about the thread titles. And speaking of this thread title, I'm Bleh that you failed to seize the day, if you know what I mean...

not complaining. we are approaching the time of the season where as a fan we can truly see who is progressing or not. In my book as stated the RB position has been invisible which justifies the gaudy numbers that Sefo is putting up. The DL has gotten better. Th OL has, well, not regressed. The receivers have stepped up (including true freshman). DB's we knew would be serviceable if not really good, have not regressed. The LB's, we knew would be bad (where is Rippy?). Sefo has even improved/ no sophomore slump. I was just bringing this up to see if others are seeing what I am seeing? or not That is what a fan does. The coaches are watching tapes asking the same questions.

I will tell you it's running backs. We knew linebacking was an issue and who had injury problems. We had spring practice with 7 scholarship running backs and can't get it done.

That huge run where like 20 buffs missed their RB, I don't know if Addison didn't give effort like some have alluded, it looked like he just screwed up his pursuit angle entirely. He just over shot the play and could not recover when the RB juked. Really boneheaded play, but IDK if it was a lack of effort.

This - wins most disappointing thread.
