Most Improved Teams for 2015

I was on my way to Lake Texoma yesterday to do some off season work on the boat and was listening to Dari and Mel (Dari Nowkhah and Mel Kiper) They had a segment where they were discussing the teams they expect to be the most improved for 2015. Their #1 was Arkansas, #2 Texas, and #3 yes that's right boy's and girl's your very own CU Buffs. They had some very nice things to say about the players and the staff. It was quite refreshing to hear the Buffs being discussed on a national radio show, and good things being said about them.

Hope they are right.

I certainly hope so. The pieces seem to be there, now can they get over the hump.

That would be some really good news.

I think there are some players that will benefit from another year of S&C. There are hopefully some redshirts and back ups that will now be able to improve depth. We were competitive and close in all but two games. The hope is a couple of kids emerge on defense that can make a difference is some of those. AND Sefo has another year of maturity and doesn't stare down WRs and a few less picks are tossed.

That was my reference. Thank you for catching it.

Which one are you again?

You may want to look up reference and plagiarism is the dictionary. I think you mixed them up.

I guess Carlos Mencia was just referencing other comedians material?

Are you serious Clark?

Haha. Love that line. Just busting your chops this morning. Figured you don't know who I am anyway, haha.

Oops I did it again. Let's face it, it's all the same, only the names have changed.

i assumed you were a vowel state.

The second reference is a part of pop culture lore that is widely known. The first is a tweet made by someone just days ago. Big difference. Also, if someone didn't know where the line: "you serious, Clark?" originated it wouldn't be funny - hence the pop culture reference. You stole a freaking joke and passed it off as your own. Tried to let you off the hook, but I see you want to be clever (I mean, as much as you can be).

I think you're trying to be difficult for fun, at this point--but I'll bite.

The tweet was posted on Allbuffs in a widely read thread. The joke was the reference, not the words themselves. I assumed people would make the association between the word "hump", my post, and the tweets. Without the Faux Pelini reference, there was no joke.

How much time must pass before you can reference a quote? Are there specific media that can be referenced?

We could go back and forth on this all day. I don't see how you were making a Faux Pelini reference, it read like you were playing off the 'hump' comment and using his line to make a joke. Using his joke doesn't 'refer' to him. Maybe I just don't get your sophisticated "non-vowel state" humor.

Have a great Sunday. Go Buffs.

Next year all comes down to our defensive front seven. If they pick it up we will go to a bowl game. If they don't we will be scratching for four to five wins. A good pass rusher would go a long ways too but we also have to do a better job setting the edge.

Sorry for hijacking the thread. I hope next year we see improvement and agree it's nice to see the national media talking about the program in a positive light. I think we are in best shape going into a season since 2005. Need some LBs bad though.

it would be nice to positively surprised next year. we haven't been surprised in a good way for a very long time with this program.

Then let's. Since I'm starting to think that you actually are accusing me of plagiarism (and since I teach ethics seminars at a university in the DC area), I think that I should clear my name here.

The idea of plagiarism is somewhat dependent on the readers NOT recognizing the reference, in order to pass off a non-original idea as one's own.

How could I possibly expect to pass the "37 humps" joke off as my own, when it is posted on the very same site on which I posted? There had to be a reasonable expectation that most readers in this forum would have also read the "Riley/nebraska" thread--those readers were my audience for that post.

Clearly it was reference to the Faux Pelini tweet. If you read my posts, I also frequently reference other posters in other threads. It's just what I do.

Don't listen to him, babar. He doesn't just reference things. He also bangs fatties, is fat, ****s on his own feet, and has a fetish for asian women and women dressed as sheep, but still only bangs fatties.

He also drives a big truck because he has a small weiner. Not verified, but he admits it.

I was referring to the definition of plagiarism and not the "idea" of plagiarism. Guess that's our disconnect. Maybe I should take one of your seminars.

Babar sounds like a joy to be around.

Holy crap. Scared me for a second. Read this comment and thought my wife had started an account. Haha.

I am done posting on this topic, let the fun resume.

:pfft:

To the topic at hand, I love that CU is being looked at as a team that could make a big move next year. Strangely, it coming from Kiper is more meaningful to me. Mel's primarily looking at rosters in terms of NFL talent. He must see something with this team beyond not losing much from a squad that played (and lost) a lot of close games this season.
