Last time I checked, the media generally prefers salacious dirty laundary such as the Simpson title 9 circus over stories of CU players overcoming adversity that is of the media's own making.
Somehow I don't see Rick Reilly eating crow and telling the world how this group of seniors no longer makes him ashamed of his class ring. Even if he did say such a thing, it would probably come off as cynical self-serving pandering.
If the Denver Post and RMS are going to fail to cover Dizon's Butkus nomination with any enthusiasm, I seriously doubt the big paper reporters or editors have the moral fortitude to say, "sorry for running down the program. It must have sucked to be called rapists eventhough nobody was ever charged, but we have papers to sell. Next time we'll check our facts. My bad."
