NBA (and other pro league) Buffs

Really don't love how the Nets have handled the exciting young core they had a few years ago – forming a villian-esque super team with Harden now – great time for Spence to GTFO of there

Man, feels like college bball is the only major sport that is low-ish on BS and high on parity + quality

Because it is the only sport like that. Every fan of every D1 team can legit believe he'll see victories over top 10 teams in his life and that a run to a Sweet 16 or beyond might happen some year. For all fans of programs down to the Loyola-Chicago level of D1, they have proof that a Final Four is possible.

Loyola also has a national champioship on their resume.

Tyler Bey playing for the Long Island Nets in the G League on ESPN+ right now for anyone with a subscription. Halftime and he has 3 rebounds in 6 minutes.

Rockets should find a way to sign Tyler Bey. Would be a perfect fit.

Confused Jon Stewart GIF

Need an athletic big that can rebound and block shots, perfect compliment for Chris Wood. Not going to resign Olynik, Bey is a good fit for the Rockets young core after Wall is traded.

Or he could stay with a franchise that isn't a complete dumpster fire, avoiding the worst owner in the NBA, and continue to develop with a team that has proven to build up younger players. Not to mention that he'd be a pretty damn good fit between Porzingis and one of the top 5 players in the NBA.

Rockets is the better franchise historically. Plenty of cap space and draft capital to rebuild the roster.

Is Bey any good? Seems he will have to become a shooter to play any meaningful time in the NBA. Even elite defenders need to bring some offensive game

And the worst owner in the NBA. Which negates everything you just argued for. There's a reason they're selling players instead of making smart basketball trades.
The Rockets owner is not the worst in the NBA. The guy opens up his check book to go after the top free agents. Sometimes decisions don't work out. Got to learn and rebuild. Rockets is in good position to quickly rebuild. Also have plenty of cap space to be active in free agency.

We are selling players because we couldn't win a title with Harden. We have tried. It simply didn't work. The goal is to win the NBA title. If you can't win with a ball hug, me me me ego players, you blow it up and rebuild. Which is what the Rockets is doing.
