NBA (and other pro league) Buffs

A lot of Celtic fans were pissed when they traded to get DW. Now he’s a huge fan favorite. 😆

I would much rather have KJ than anything to do with the Balls.

KJ with a bad moment here. Wasn't intentional, and has apologized several times. Wells is ok, concussion and broken wrist, and has been released from the hospital.

Jay has worked so hard for this.

The last day of training camp she made the half court shot and it was amazing to watch all the big name playes jumping around her for that.

The kids has also put gold in her teeth. I am not with it enough to understand all of the gold in her teeth.

Can't wait to watch her play this season.

Jaylyn Sherrod and the NY Liberty were presented with their Championship rings at yesterday's game. Jaylyn threw an after party to celebrate her completion of her second master's degree. This one is in Criminal Justice.

Her outfit honors her hometown of Birmingham, Alabama and her high school, Ramsay High. That's where it all started and without Birmingham, she would not be where she is today.

Don’t shoot the messenger here but I read some stuff on Cody Williams and a lot are calling him a bust and one of their worst picks ever. I thought he would struggle but he needs to make some serious strides next year (which I think he will.)

4.6pts/game
2.3rpg
32% FG
25.9% 3pt

He straight up can’t shoot…and he’s extremely passive on offense.

We knew these things when he was coming out, hell we knew he was passive when he was in high school, but he was at least respectable shooting at CU.

Watched some Jazz, and he’s effective at running the offense.

He may take a couple of years to show what he can do.

He's still only 20. He didn't really get even a year of college ball struggling with a lingering injury. When he was drafted it was understood that he was being selected on potential, not on what he already was.

Utah also wasn't a team that provided a lot of talented support around him. Very early to call a guy like him a bust

Utah is a team that isn't in bad shape with the cap. What would you think about a trade involving MPJ for Keyonte George and Williams?

I mean look at the draft picks ahead of him, Reed Sheppard with 4.1, 1, and 1 on 35, 33 shooting splits was drafted 6 spots ahead of Cody. Rob Dillingham only 4.4, 2 on 45, 35 shooting splits, Tidjane Saluan, 6, 5, and 1 in 33, 28 in 20 minutes a game.

Think this was a bad draft which is more reason Cody should have left. Would not have been 10th overall this year.

Still has time to develop. Definitely not one of the worst picks ever.

Arguably the step from college basketball to the NBA is bigger than in any other major team sports. In football guys are forced to spend 3 years at the college level and are more physically and mentally mature, baseball and hockey have minor league systems that provide intermediate steps.

In college the best and most talented guys aren't around more than one year so they guys playing it don't see much of them compared to playing football in a power conference lining up against future pros multiple weeks.

Cody two years ago was playing HS ball, this year he is out there looking at guys like Aaron Gordon guarding him.
