NBA (and other pro league) Buffs

Jaylyn Sherrod was waived by the New York Liberty early this morning. They told her after the game on Thursday.

I hope she finds another team. Fans enjoyed her. Players seemed to enjoy her and she is a tough ball player with no quit in her.

She’s been involved with NBA 2K for a long time as well. Been with her for…seems like forever now.

Ms. Sherrod was able to find a new home pretty quickly, and it looks to be a STRONG one. (Minnesota currently leads the WNBA by 5-1/2 games.)

She isn't the most talented player in the league but she is proof that hard work and a great attutude will carry a person far. Wonder if she has ambitions to coach in the future.
 
Just read a blog post about why the Lynx signed Jaylyn. She is not going to actually play for the Lynx. She was signed so the Indiana Fever, who have no healthy point guards, can not sign her.

This is a professional sports chess game and she is a pawn in the game.

The best outcome for Jaylyn is that she gets a second championship.

The Lynx beat the Liberty yesterday. The Liberty played a tribute video to Jaylyn during the pre-game. Doesn't sound like she will play enough with the Lynx for even a highlight video.

I have to assume the checks cash the same when you're a pawn as when you're a queen. And all it takes is one injury...
