NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships (Coburn wins National Championship)

The 1st heat of the men's 200m is starting now. Joe Morris will be in the 3rd heat.

Coburn wins heat 1 by 9 seconds and qualifies for the final on Saturday.

Coburn is in a different league than the other runners. She finished with a huge lead and seemed barely to be breathing hard while the gal from Cornell who finished in second was bent over and gasping when she finished.

From the beginning she had a big lead and I figured maybe as it went on the other people would catch up.

Coburn also finished about 12 seconds faster than the heat 2 winner. That's it for the Buffs tonight, I believe the only competitor tomorrow will be Aric Van Halen in the steeplechase.

Action at the NCAA Championships will continue on Friday for the Buffs, starting with sophomore Mark Jones in the high jump which starts at 3:20 p.m. PT and the beginning of the meet will be streamed on the Pac-12 Live Stream (pac-12.com/live/goducks). Senior Aric Van Halen will be on the track at 5:40 p.m. PT for the finals of the men’s steeplechase. That final will be televised live on ESPNU.

The NCAA has worked with ESPN, the Pac-12 and the University of Oregon to ensure that all events are available live on TV or the internet. Throughout the meet, you can watch all the action, but the availability depends on the date and time. Please review the information below for links and details.

Yeah, he's only a sophomore so he has a couple of years to improve.

Three.

I thought I read he may redshirt next year and use the last two years of eligibility to attempt an Olympic run.

That's it today for the Buffs. The final competition for them is with Emma Coburn in the steeplechase which will be held tomorrow afternoon.

Emma Coburn will wrap up the championships on Saturday afternoon for the Buffs in the women’s steeplechase. She will be going for her second title in the event as she won the championship in 2011 before redshirting the 2012 season. Coburn’s final is at 2:57 p.m. PT and will be broadcast live on ESPNU. Live stats will also be available at www.flashresults.com.

C'mon Emma.

Finish your amazing career at CU in style!
