NCAA rules HS games cannot be shown on school or conference networks

you guys don't want to see high school games on the PAC network? wtf do you want them to show on Thursday and Friday nights in the fall? some ****** studio show?

This is a bad decision. NCAA being too controlling, creating even more useless rules again.

If it is illegal to televise high school games, it should also be illegal to hold any camps for high school kids on college campuses.

We could have had conference networks airing local high school baseball and basketball championships etc... Now none of this is allowed to be aired, and we will see re-runs of the women's shotput from 2004 over and over.

**** YOU NCAA! Suck my penis you twats.

Deloss is that you?

Pretty much verbatim what he said in a presser this week. Thought you were a CU fan?

First of all a conference network is very different than one school's network because the LHN would give only Texas a distinct advantage and no-one else. I can see it now hot Texas coeds from the journalism school working the sidelines "interviewing" prep stars and recruits, really you chose OU? why? Yeah NO recruiting issues or violations possible there. As the Pac-12 network would give the whole conference an advantage, which frankly isnt much better.

IF ESPN wants to televise high-school games put the good ones on ESPN U or the Ocho or what ever, they can still make their money.

Exactly. If one school in a conference is recruiting a kid, chances are others are too. So if the P12N airs a HS game, it might be benefiting, say, U$C, Oregon and CU, but not 9 other schools. Which means nobody is likely to be lining up the broadcast to help them with recruiting. The NCAA still has to deal with it, because it does give those P12 teams a leg up on teams from conferences without a network. But no one specific school is the winner there. The big problem is with the Bevo Network, where one school can play games with scheduling broadcasts in order to give themselves a direct advantage.

PAC Olympic sports. Rugby. Water polo. Skiing. For starters.

Although to be honest, there are going to be PAC football games on ESPN/Fox on Thursdays and Fridays now. So I'll probably be watching that. Enjoy watching Mack Brown waiting for his car to pick him up at the airport on the Longhorn Network though.
