Nebraska Game Week - Prime: “This is personal. That’s the message of the week.”

Minnesota did that and he still broke edge contain with his power and speed. Minnesota just based on game 1 has a better run defense than CU. That said, let's see the adjustments CU can make. To me, this is the perfect game to unleash D. Kennedy as a spy.

Nebraska best offensive weapon is also Nebraska worst offensive weapon.

It's Jeff Sims. He's a difference maker with his legs and liability with this arm just based off of the last two years. He was much better early in his career but he has a lot less talent around him now and last year than previous years with Gibbs. He had 113 on the ground minus sacks. He even had 77.2 grade on the ground by PFF.

It's clear as day, if they get behind, their getting washed but they do have ways to win. This isn't TCU where at the end of the day, regardless if I underestimated our team or overestimated them, studs will be studs. They can literally play keepaway. That said, as you stated, we must stop the run and force the pass while avoiding giving up too many big runs to Sims and guys like Ervin Jr.

Houston my brother
Demouy Kennedy is basically tailor made to spy on Sims.

Kennedy listed at 6’3” 215. Sims listed at 6’4” 220.

Sims is a dynamic athlete but so is Demouy.

Also, gonna be a great time to unleash JuJu. Time for the linebackers to eat.

Only thing about load up the box is we basically ran the same formation all game. Even with TCU’s success running I don’t think we had more than 4 DL and 2 LB’s in the game at any time
Im that’s because we always had to have the Star position out there. Against Nebraska, I would anticipate the 5th DB being replaced by a LB. Juju Mitchell and Kennedy feel like they’ll both be getting on the field this week

To me, it comes down to this. Which is the better unit, TCU offense or Minnesota defense? Because CU couldn't stop them and Nebraska couldn't move the ball. If Buffs played the better unit, we're good to go.

But also, **** em they suck. Jeff Sims threw 3 picks against Minne-goddamn-sota. Travis Hunter is going to bait the absolute hell out of some throws. They will run the ball a lot, and probably successfully. Can they keep up? Can CU stop them enough where the offense can score?

I mean prolly

I am seeing some of the same LB flaws with speed as I saw with TCU but I don't think these LBs cover in space as well as TCU LBs. I am watching the RBs and their TEs on Minnesota consistently get favorable looks but the QB read isn't there or the QB never made it to them in his progressions.

This Minnesota QB is really bad.

Nebraska might have a world of problems. That said, they are getting a decent amount of pocket movement with #9 early on. He's someone to keep an eye on. 0 gets the fruits of his labor.

They are a much more aggressive defense than TCU but no where near as disciplined and opportunistic. I see a lot of blitzes and stunts. Then again, I seen this a lot at HBCU land where the defense was extremely aggressive and than they turned conservative as Shedeur was cutting their ass up with quick reads.

This doesn't look good for Nebraska. Their best chance at doing big things on D is literally suspended for a half.

I am not seeing anything on the level of TCU defense on film. They maybe better in pursuit and tackling in the run game but that's about it. Other than when he was on Hunter, Josh Newton locked Javon Antonio ass down as well as the others when matched up on them. There is no Josh Newton here. Not even close.

If there is an area they are better than TCU, there safeties aren't as aggressive but they rely on their corners in coverage with how they play the 3-3-5. I think CU has a good chance to break for a big run against them if they get to the edge.
Isn't #9 disqualified till the third quarter due to targeting in the MN game?

I honestly don’t know how much stock to put in the Minnesota game, but I will say that this years Minnesota team- especially the offense- looked nowhere near as good as the team who mudholed CU last year.

I personally welcome the running attack if they chose to do so. No one is talking about the obvious; the hits, the reps, and most importantly the altitude will eventually set in, and they won’t be able to sustain it.

If they have to play catch-up…. They’re absolutely fuked!

Anyone have a lead on a Fusker fan site that doesn't require a registration (and money). I, along with a couple of other regular posters here used to frequent the old Huskerpedia site ... there were some good dudes on there with whom it was fun to trade barbs ... especially in 2001! Unfortunately that site seemed to fade away a few years ago.

I'm curious to see what Fusker nation thinks about CU's performance against the Horny Toads and the prospects for this Saturday.
If I want to trash talk Nebraska fans, no better spot than Twitter.

as physical as our corners are and as small and weak their WRs are? they might not complete a pass. Our LBs definitely need to feel gaps better.

We got this in a blowout

I watched some of the Nebraska/Minnesota game. #1_Pick has some good analysis. TCU on offense killed the Buffs with their crossing routes. CU was unable to get much pressure on the QB. But TCU under Dykes is known for Offense - which is Dykes specialty so I don't think Nebraska will have the same offensive outing the Horned Frogs did. In fact, Nebraska does not appear to have a very robust passing game. I expect them to come out and try to run the ball and keep the ball away from CUs offense. If CU gets a double digit lead it will be hard on the Huskers as they will have to abandon the run and try to pass which is not their strength.

CU's offense looks very legit, obviously a lot of skilled playmakers. The real test will be the oline, the line looked better than I thought it would but I am not convinced that TCU's defensive front is all that good. On the other hand, I think TCU has a much better secondary than Nebraska does.

I don't think that NU can outscore the Buffs.

playing the fuskers has a cadence to it that never changes.

stage 1: we gonna kill those weak little Buffs. they soft and we are mountains of masculinity.
stage 2: Buff fans are gonna murder us in our sleep when we visit boulder. beware good people of fusker-land.
stage 3: what is happening here? the refs are crooked and the Bufs are all steroid rage cheating thugs.
stage 4: our moral superiority will carry us through these dark times. thank goodness we are fuskers.
stage 5. spew vitriol at the Buffs until the next game.

rinse, repeat.
