I don't get this logic. Paying them more money didn't magically make the initial staff better. Opening up the checkbook to get the right people (Chev, etc) is great but throwing money at mediocre coaches is idotic.

Haha. Good point. But given that we budget just about every penny of our revenue and we likely need to increase our staff salary, prudence is necessary.

It is so clear why Mike Bohn was hired and then managed things the way he did.

RG gets it. Football is important. It will get what it needs. Money will get raised rather than pennies getting pinched.

I said wait till the season is over, but this is a completely different than the Hawk. That was one game that Hawk won. MM has proven he is a good coach, IMO. I would be fine either way.

I dont think there is much difference between now and after the season. But the reality is that all his hard work is hitting pay dirt and he should be rewarded it. J Mac kind of holds him here. We shouldn't try and get cute. Extend him and Extend The Rise

We had to shed the reputation of being a bunch of cheap asses. We don't get Leavitt, Tumpkin, Chev, etc without showing a commitment to paying (and perhaps even overpaying) assistants. What we are seeing this year doesn't happen without what happened back in 2012.

Get on it ASAP. During this down week would be great timing. He has proved himself and has adjusted his staff as needed. Then we could start trying to lock the whole staff down before end of season/ it gets awkward. I really like HCMM, I could see him sticking around for a while. I could see him getting us to the promise land.

I think it generally works out to lock up coaches and players early on. I think we can't get too jaded by the **** extension that Hawk got. This team is legit and will probably only get better as we get more talented. We're seriously being lead by a bunch of guys from that 2013 transition class. Imagine when we start working in the better classes, assuming we don't replace a Leavitt with a Baer or some monkey ****. Mac has been superb with his coaching hires after the initial staff.
