NEW: Regents Meeting, Benson Decision, Investigation Report -- Monday, 6/12

And though I posted about being deliberate earlier in the thread, I was thinking the regents would be discussing more than a preliminary report. The scope of this investigation is small, how long does it really need to take? An open-ended timeline is strange given the nature of the investigation.

I'm guessing CU has spent over 100k with the hiring and time for these lawyers, will jack kroll issue any statements on how this money should have gone to students or the university?

I like you Cree. when I can remember who you are.

Adam just posted on the Scout board that the Regents were called back in to continue meeting for a couple more hours tonight.

I'm so glad that important decisions are in the hands of Jack Kroll, given how much he's learned in the admissions department since graduating from college in 2011.

i wonder if we will ever get to the point where we trust enough to not believe that the absolute worst is about to happen...

i am ****ing terrified at this point... 2 more hours of meetings. hopefully, it is just so that they can confirm the contract(s) and we can move on after they heard the undoubtedly fascinating report from the lawyers.

As I've been saying, you don't hire lawyers and not expect them to find something to justify their being hired. Especially when they specialize in the subject matter they are investigating. My fear is that these ladies are either prejudiced or activists. Paranoia runs deep.

Someone will be a scapegoat and I fully support it bring Jack Kroll!

I have worked with this law firm they are good. If this much time is being taken, there are substantive issues that were found. Everything will come out because we're a Public University. So, I find myself in the awkward position of agreeing with DBT that my paranoia flag is at full mast and my tinfoil hat is getting too hot.

This is a f'n joke. Nothing happened. Every little thing may not have been handled perfectly but in the end once charges were filed he got fired. Innocent til proven guilty. Accusations don't prove guilt. This is just some punk ass young liberal trying to make a name for himself, and he's about to set the football program back for years right after we dug out of the hole.

in a perfect world, they are negotiating some face-saving new clarifications on reporting requirements and will institute a "training" program for university leaders. they will then issue a finding that, although we could have done better, and we strive to do so (and thus, the new clarifications), the staff is absolved as it followed the rules as best as it knew them and the extension is therefore approved.

that's best case at this point, i think.

middle case, they do nothing tonight and this drags out for many more weeks while they shuffle their bureaucratic gaseous opinions around and step on their own dicks.

and, well, you guys know worst case scenarios.

i'm going with best case until they ****ing crush my hopes again.

I could see Distefano and George getting something done to them!!! Not fired, but paid leave and training.

As I read this, Macintyre did what he was supposed to do, report it to his superiors. As far as calling the defensive plays, I do wish that Mac had just handled that himself, but he probably did not do anything wrong based on the scenario he was put in. He will get some training and I hope to goodness his contract is approved. As mentioned, I think George and Distefano are more in trouble, because of the the fact that George told Tumpkin and his Attorney??? No idea why you would do that??? And Distefano is standing behind his own personal interpretation of the Campus Policies. The least incorrect was MacIntyre!!!

Sad situation, hope we never have it again!

Until proven otherwise, I will always assume that nefarious forces from within this world and without never ever want CU to have nice things.
