Why no comment? No way to stop the leaker if she can stay anonymous.

Too much secrecy around those who dislike athletics, but are employed by or affiliated with the university has been a problem for years. It gives them cover to continue to undermine the AD.

Because there is widespread belief about who it may be, you seem to have the same belief, however, there is no definitive proof.

After waiting several months It looks like there could finally be some forward movement tomorrow. Yet the piss-their-pants crowd is now whining that it is tomorrow. Some people are just afraid of their own shadow.

Listen you pompas a$$, I am not whining about it coming to an end. I welcome that the end is near. My contention is that the results, even if we like everything recommended, will get ground thru the media with a very negative slant towards the AD and football in general. This has been caused by the ridiculous process, leaks, inaction and the absolute ineptness of the Regent body as a whole. Get it over with for sure but be prepared for a continuing media push that is neither positive, truthful nor in pursuit of anything but clicks and eyeballs

Got it - thanks. I was very surprised when you suggested that the leaker was NOT Jack Kroll. I have never seen Linda Shoemaker make negative public comments about the AD. Meanwhile Kroll has always been hugely negative on the AD. He is featured prominently in this article in February- http://www.dailycamera.com/ci_30792843/mike-macintyre-contract-approval-hold-pending-review-cus

"Kroll said he was disappointed and angry when he learned about the situation in CU's Athletic Department. He said he's not comfortable voting on a contract extension for MacIntyre until some sort of formal investigation is completed into how CU handled the domestic violence allegations."

How about this gem in which he uses the Tumpkin situation to lobby against using long term contracts for assistant coaches.

"Kroll said he's also uncomfortable with a bill moving through the Colorado Legislature that would allow the CU Athletic Department to bring forward an unlimited number of contracts for approval. Right now, the campus as a whole is limited to six employment contracts."

He's also an idiot because Tumpkin would have been fired for cause.

"We very well could've had a situation where Joe Tumpkin had a long-term contract and quite frankly, I'm not OK with that," Kroll said. "Why would we be putting ourselves in a situation where we have the potential to owe someone like Joe Tumpkin even more money than we had to negotiate for his resignation?"

Then he needs to work really hard to eliminate tenure. Imagine, professors with lifetime contracts!!

Not Kroll.

It is starting early today. Channel 9 (got stuck watching it at the gym this morning) is running a smear report every hour for about 5 minutes. This is not going to be a fun new cycle and it will be interesting to see how quickly it dies or catches fire. I expect the worst out of our local media hacks.

9news is terrible, on many levels. IMO local broadcast news in general is in a death spiral. Revenues are weakening and the content, talent, etc are suffering. About the only thing they can do is make mountains out of mole-hills to catch the attention of a dwindling market.

The extension will be approved, however, don't be surprised if Tuna Mac & RG both leave voluntarily on the next 18 months.
Assuming there will be a hefty buyout in a contract extension for Mac, how does he voluntarily leave? Either another program pays it or he pays it himself. The extension details will be interesting to see, and could be telling if there is an "out" for him in 2018 or 2019.

Gonna be a long day. The public session for the Regents meeting is slated to start no earlier than 5pm.

I can't answer that, I have not been privy to his contract or negotiations. The main point is that we have a very real problem at the top that needs to be dealt with in a very public manner.

Is Benson part of the issue? I know a couple years ago he was talking about RG being the best in the country, and he loved MacIntyre

What information was leaked? From my perspective nothing critical of Mac RG or Benson is out there. They immediately took it to their bosses?

Amended. Originally put in Benson and should have put RG.
