SEC now denies it has given Missouri an offer to join SEC. League not happy about this story going public.
Going to be hilarious if Mizzou effs things up with the SEC because Mizzou leaked it in hopes of a B1G invite.

I love this cat and mouse game between the California and Texas media.

That might literally kill me from laughter after how Mizzou already screwed themselves once in the realignment game.
“Apparently they’ve come to us,” the MU booster said of the SEC. “I’ve been told there is an offer on the table.”

P12 presidents are expected to vote on whether to expand or not by the end of the week - per an AP writer

Need nine of 12 votes RT @ralphDrussoAP: Pac-12 officials tells AP vote by presidents on whether to expand expected by end of week.
I'm soooo glad we're in the PAC. Can you imagine how bad it would suck to still be in the BIG 12 right now.

The fake Dan Beebe account is nothing short of awesome.
I'm going to miss that thing when it goes away after Beebe gets canned.
Syracuse to Missouri: Pro tip. Shut your mouth.
Honestly... how does Missouri not learn their lesson from last year? It sounds like one booster is desperate for attention and is going to end up screwing MU.

It sounds like the Mountain Schools including Benson are making NOISE in the Pac-12 right now.
For example: If Texas doesn’t agree to participate fully in the league’s revenue-sharing plan … if Texas doesn’t agree to fold the Longhorn Network into the Pac-12 regional network structure … if everyone isn’t on board with a 16-team division alignment … then Scott isn’t going to bother asking for a vote on the Longhorns.
And he's backing down/qualifying the "LS will get the votes he wants" quote. If a handful of schools have major objections to Texas (or Oklahoma) on any number of grounds, the others won’t use strong-arm tactics to ram through their agenda and Scott won’t put a deal in front of them.
As I’ve noted on the Hotline (and Twitter) throughout the realignment chaos:
1. Nothing is done until it’s done.
2. Until Oklahoma actually applies for Pac-12 membership, it’s all posturing for a better deal in the Big 12.
In addition to hitting a few new topics, I wanted to follow up on something mentioned at the end of Sunday’s post — that if commissioner Larry Scott needs the votes for expansion, he’ll have them.
There has been plenty of chatter about this topic, in part because various schools have various reservations about Texas and Oklahoma and their partners:
Everything from academic concerns — the Oklahoma schools are not AAU members — to division alignment worries to general wariness about getting involved with Texas in any way, shape or form.
On the topic of voting (nine CEOs must sign off on new members), it’s important to consider Scott’s management style.
Before coming to the Pac-12, which was then the Pac-10, he ran the Women’s Tennis Association — an international organization of independent contractors with their own agendas.
Yes, he is bold and creative. But he’s also a pragmatist and a consensus builder.
He’s in regular communication with his CEOs, including ASU’s Michael Crow, chairman of the league’s executive group, and knows exactly what the presidents and chancellors want.
He’s not going to call for a vote on new members unless those new members agree in advance to work within the Pac-12′s framework.
The Pac-12 isn’t the Big 12. It’s a unified conference in which the universities work together — and in some cases compromise — for the greater good.
If a handful of schools have major objections to Texas (or Oklahoma) on any number of grounds, the others won’t use strong-arm tactics to ram through their agenda and Scott won’t put a deal in front of them.
That’s why I phrased the comment the way I did: If Scott needs the votes, he’ll have them.
If UT isn’t willing to make the concessions necessary to make the conference a better place for the 12 existing members, Scott won’t even bother calling for a vote.
He’ll thank the Longhorns for their interest, and then move on.
Solid article for a change.
As someone who was born in Oklahoma and knows both OK and TX, the OK schools are too deeply rooted with the state of Texas and having the OK schools in a west coast based conference would be as awkward as CU in the Big 8/12 was for many years. It’s almost asking the Oregon or Arizona schools to be part of the Big 12 away from their California alumni & recruiting base.
And from a CU fan POV, having the California schools in seperate pods make no sense at all if we go to 16. If the Cal schools are in one pod, each school would get two Cal schools every year (one NorCal and SoCal).
And one last thing, you said in your paraphrasing that if Scott needs the votes that he would have them, I think that is where you are mistaken here. Wilner, look at what I said about the Oregon or Arizona schools being in a Texas based conference like the Big 12…it wouldn’t work and that is what the Mountain schools are facing if they are placed in the Pac-16 East. No school knows this better than CU during the 15 years they were in the Big 12. It’s best to learn from CU’s trails & tribulations as a Big 12 member on what NOT to do when it comes to the Pac-12.
I need help. I MUST ARGUE. :lol:Give em hell on shaggy Snow!
