We've talked enough about it we've heard the story lines from Booker not playing, to Dustin Thomas leaving, to a reported promise of some Brett Brady action. The first round of the CBI is here! Welcome to the 5th straight year of Buffs post season basketball. I dont know a damn thing about Gardner-Webb other than what I just learned on ESPN and KenPom. They did win 20 games and had a winning record in conference which is more than we can say for ourselves this year. Vegas has us as 12 point favorites but that has a lot of variables in it: how many will show up? who will play? etc.

There are a ton of stories in this one, as we know Ski and Dustin wont play which means an extra 45 minutes of PT are up for grabs. The Camera is reporting Brett Brady and Stalzer will see some of those, who else will?

So here is the little I have gleaned from some quick internet research:
- There are some rumblings Gardner-Webbs top scorer wont play, this is unverified and knowing our history not true.
- They play no defense, as in only Wazzu plays worse defense than them on our schedule.
- They do not protect the rim, and are below average at defending the three.
- Tyrell Nelson and Jerome Hill are their go-to guys if healthy and playing I have no qualms about Scott handling Nelson.
- They play quick, will look to get into transition, but turn the ball over a bunch.
- They shoot the ball reasonably well especially from range.
- They Play man defense
So with those notes this is a game Ski would have thrived in, I expect Josh to play well and put up big numbers if he plays much. We'll need to limit them in transition and avoid the wide-open threes to ensure victory.
