Official 2016 Coaching Carousel

The guy killed 3 people and shot another in the face because he was enabled by his football ability all of his life. I would say stuff like that can be compared to what Briles did at Baylor covering up sexual assault and rape to keep good football players around. Obviously there was a certain institutional aspect present as Baylor that wasn't there at Florida but in terms of comparing the conduct of the coach I think we can definitely compare the two. Meyer didn't make near as many mistakes as Briles did but the one he did make had a huge impact.

What's the difference between this correlation and Carruth attributed to CU? Just saying.

What issues did Aaron have in Bristol that suggested he'd become a murderer? I grew in that part of CT and I've never heard he had major issues with the law.

Coaches take chances all the time on High School studs from the hood. We do it here.

Much different than letting rape take place.

Sorry man, but this is a bunch of bull****. Urban was enabling Hernandez because of his football abilities, and therefore is partly responsible for Hernandez killing people years later? And that's somehow as bad as Briles being directly involved with a massive rape cover up involving multiple players that he knew had committed these crimes under his watch and did nothing about it. ****. That. ****.

He got involved with drugs and the "wrong crowd" (the same crowd that was involved with the shootings and incidents throughout his life). It was fairly obvious and many schools pulled their scholarship offers and NFL guys found out very quickly while he being evaluated for the draft, many took him off their draft boards entirely and it was the reason he dropped to the fourth round. Basically if you do any basic searching into his life it was all there.

The moral of the story here is that Ohio State doesn't have ANY good looking women, Period.
Drove that state twice with attendant stops for food and gas. Whole state had NO decent women!
Also, its farms and rural areas are far inferior to Indiana's or Illinois': run-down barns, corn rows petering out two thirds of the way, dead trees everywhere, lots of standing water everywhere, a real sh*thole of a state.

This isn't hard to understand. Briles covered up sexual assault and rape to keep good players around. Meyer kept a player around who did a bunch of bad things before and during college (including being a suspect in a MURDER case) while many within the program knew/put up with his conduct. I am saying it all comes down to the handling of star players actions. Obviously there was a lot more that went on with Briles but it is still a head coach letting players do bad things because they can win football games.

Sure. From a 100,000 ft level, these situations are comparable. However, there is a pretty big difference between the circumstances, including the magnitude of crimes under each coach's watch, that you are just brushing off, and that matters.

Murder is generally considered to be the worst crime. Perhaps you meant number.

What are your top 5 favorite states? Obviously Colorado is numero uno, but I'm curious what 2-5 are

Good luck tip toeing through that grave yard.

According to people who went to High School with him, while no boy scout, and possibly even "troubled" after his father's death, they didn't know he'd start killing people, back then. Most recruiters passed on him because he was too slow to play WR and too small to play TE. That's a fact. Urban liked him more than most because he valued a different sort of TE.

I haven't seen anyone say Urban knew he was committing these violent crimes while at Florida. and worked with police to knowingly let it continue. That's sort of different thing in my book.

It's completely different and I don't know why people are comparing Urban Meyer to Art ****ing ****bailer Briles.

Urban Meyer is famous for allowing pretty much any off field behaviour to be acceptable by his players. Meyer's wife is famous for defending his policy of playing kids no matter what they do off the field. Win at all costs is the same.

He had early offers from big time programs but these schools backed off of him because of personal issues, not because of his playing ability so your "fact" is not a fact at all, you are talking about a 6-4, 230 pound high school tight end who was highly rated. Even if you disregard these issues before he went to Florida there were HUGE red flags while he was there and a lot of it came back to the crowd he was around in Connecticut.

No **** Urban didn't think he would commit murder (unless you consider assault a violent crime, or you know being a suspect in a murder case while at the University of Florida) but a ton of things get swept under the rug in college football, especially in a town like Gainsville, Waco, etc. that wouldn't fly at a lot of other places. A ton of college coaches, Art Briles was just one case, get away with similar **** all the time, Urban Meyer at Florida included. Baylor was just one of the first programs to get exposed and put under a microscope where every single detail came to light. Dan Mullen basically said this before the season when he let their 5* commit into school who knocked a girl out (is that a violent enough crime for you) because he knew he would just go to another one of his rival schools if he kicked him off the team.

There are plenty of coaches like Art Briles in college football and people need to stop acting like he is some exception in the coaching profession.

I can't stand Urban Meyer and I'm certainly not calling him clean. I am saying Briles' crime is worse.

Since you asked nicely, in no particular order: Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and...wait for it...Massachusetts!......Drop-dead, gorgeous high desert and mountain scenery, as well as a Mass. of history (plus Fenway and the Sox)!

Yeah, especially when Dr Tom Osbourne is a far more apropos example of Urban sleaze! Lessee, how did Dr T's saga with Lawrence Phillips end up?

****ing Umass? Gotta give you a, " come on man."

I agree for a P5 head coaching job. What seems more likely is a program like Oklahoma or Florida State needing a new DC next year and thinking they could outbid CU for Leavitt's services or woo him with the prestige of a school that's been in the hunt for natties. That or a G5 school (think Ohio's decade with Frank Solich) okay with Leavitt making it his head coaching retirement job if he keeps them bowl eligible most years.
**** that. CU is in the hunt for nattys. NOW.
