If Gundy leaves it's not because of that. They have plenty of talent waiting in the wings as they've recruited well over the last few years. Their receiving core is pretty legit. He has a tumultuous relationship with the AD and Pickens. Basically Gundy doesn't believe he should have to keep Pickens in the loop on all things football...which is how it should be. An analogy would be Jerry Jones on a college stage. That is how Pickens wants to be. He has donated a metric **** ton of money and thinks he should be able to call shots. It's been pretty comical over the last couple years, including Gundy sitting on a contract extension for over 8 months. He did eventually sign it, but lots of drama.
I will be surprised if he goes.

True, but Arkansas is not building on the Fulmer to Kiffin to Dooley to food cart legacy. They have a lot of catching up to do.
Wow.
Maybe we should create an AllBuffs Super Fund in order to conduct independent operations like these.
Tennessee does not deserve Gundy.

Gundy is playing this UT interview like a maestro. He can use the interview as leverage for many different things at OSU - a bigger contract for himself, for his assistants, facility upgrades, institutional support upgrades, so on and so forth. Gundy's contract automatically rolls over and adds another year at the end of each year. The one thing that pretty much won't happen at OSU is a shot at the National Championship. OSU is too backwater and in the Big 12 to have a shot at the big prize, let alone being Little Brother in their own state.
Gundy is also playing UT beautifully. He had his name leaked today to see of the toothless hordes riot and burn down what remains of the buildings in Knoxville. If they don't revolt, he can move to stage 2 with UT which is demanding a kings ransom. As much of a cesspool that UT has dived into, UT can actually be a platform for winning the National Championship. Gundy might just be at a point in his life where he can call his shot at UT.

UF top 2017 commit was recruited by 2 coaches that just got fired. We NEED good recruiters
Oklahoma State is a great job for Gundy as long as T. Boone keeps the checkbook open. Pickens is getting up there is age though and while he is likely to leave a solid endowment it won't be the same as having him there to pay the bills. When that funding stream starts to decline Okie Lite will slide backwards as well.
No urgency for him to leave but if Gundy can get Tenn to give him what he wants now it could be a good time to move.
I would hate to see Tennessee do what they did and actually get rewarded by getting a top 10 coach in the country. I truly hope Gundy just strings them along and then ends up back at OSU.
I nominate @DrunkPanda, @DBT and @Duff Man to lead our committee. Sorry @Buffnik, that’s what you get for getting a coach fired.
I don't have any hate for Tennessee. I'd like to see them become what Okie Lite has become in the B12, one of those teams that isn't going to be a power but that is good enough to frequently knock off the conference powers. Having a Tennessee team that could knock the Georgias or when they play them the Bamas from the unbeatens.

So what's the deal in Lincoln? Wasn't their staff called in to meet with the AD yesterday? I can't believe there hasn't been an announcement of their dismissal yet - even Frost is making references to a job opening that isn't technically open yet. There's no chance they may retain Riley is there? If Frost goes elsewhere?

There are some awesome assistant coaches out there. OSU, ASU, UCLA, aTm, Neb, Tenn and Arkansas should have a few coaches we could upgrade with. We need to swoop in and pick up 3 or 4 min. ASAP. MacIntyre must feel a sense of urgency to upgrade the staff, finish strong with this recruiting class (hold onto want we have and pick up some DLinemen) and get started correcting the backward slide that started about this time last year.
It is miserable to see us sitting back with obvious weaknesses on staff year in and year out and slowly decide if changes are necessary, what changes to make and who is the best fit, while the best options are snagged up. The worst part is me hoping we will make the right moves this time, checking Allbuffs throughout the day in time to see nothing happen. I hope either MacIntyre or I learn our lesson soon.

Sorry mods - I TRIED direct messaging PAHIBuff, but I'm not allowed apparently...and to those that don't care about this dialogue between just us two, apologies on hijacking/diverting discussion a little.
I did watch the 30 for 30 on it, and now I don't think I'm following you on how Duke is corrupt. By corrupt, I'm assuming you feel that Duke is covering something up, or acting amorally while putting a facade of behaving properly. If you enjoyed the 30 for 30, then you'd agree with, or at least appreciate, the argument that the Duke lacrosse scandal was largely driven by an over-ambitious DA, a fraternity-party environment among certain social/athletic circles, the odd relationship and contrast between Duke and Durham, and the unfortunate situation of the stripper's life. The first and last reasons are out of Duke's control. The second is at every school, and having visited and knowing people that have gone there, the party/frat scene at Duke is incredibly pale compared to most schools. Duke could do more I guess to reach out to Durham, but I believe they do to an extent...but again, that's not really corrupt.
As to the things you list in your post, I'm not sure how any of them are corrupt either. Yes, Duke faculty were abhorred about the incident, and the coach was fired. If you're saying the firing was corrupt, I contest your word choice. It could have been premature or a wrongful termination in your eyes, but the university saw the man as being overall responsible for an environment that did not uphold values of the school. And this inability of the coach to get his players to strictly abide the university's values does indeed happen practically everywhere. But again, corrupt is a strong word. What's nefarious about the firing? You could say it was misguided, but corrupt? Are you mad that Duke tried to act in some moral fashion? You can hate Duke all you want, and I get it - it's a strong academic institution that also mostly only wealthy kids attend; it's snobbish. Coach K looks like a rat, and okay, we all get jealous of more successful programs...I get it. Duke sucks - sure. But many factors that led to the Duke lacrosse scandal do occur in many areas of our country - they are not special to Duke.
Using this example to call out Duke is interesting coming from a fellow CU fan, because we also went through our own similar situation with Barnett and the sex scandal. I don't know how old you are, but I was at CU when it was going on. Certain specifics aside, there are many similarities, and to this day, I'll stand by my friends that were on the football team. Were some of the players typical college douchebags, sure. Was there a frat-party environment at CU, especially within athletic social circles, absolutely. Did GB try, but fail, to instruct the players on behaving off the field, sure. Did Boulder have a political environment that was preamturely outraged by the allegations, yes.
College sports is corrupt by pretending that academics are important, and by men making money off of free labor, among other issues. However, to single out Duke because of the lacrosse scandal seems misguided.
I would imagine pretty much everybody disagrees with the deliberate, snail's pace hiring practices. It has yielded, dare I say it, crappy results. But why does anyone think MikMac will change now?
