Official 2018 Fall Camp Thread

Jones is kind of stiff from what I saw and I'm not sure he's more of a weapon in the red zone than Viska/Ento/Winfree and perhaps other WR's. He's taller and bigger.
Jumbo package! Doubtful anyone has the size to cover all 4 of those guys on the same play (assuming the OL can block long enough).

Alex Tchangam so far leading the swimsuit contest but not mentioned for anything done on the football field.....

Can the guy play a down in an actual game first? Jesus.
It seems like the priority is getting Drew Lewis, Gamboa and Landman on the field at the same time, so they are moving Lewis to OLB/Pass Rusher, which pretty much takes over the OLB role Falo, Callier, Wells and Tchangam play. When Lewis isn't in that role, Tchangam still has to beat out Falo, Callier and Wells for PT, which through his first 3 weeks on campus is understandable that he's unable to do so.

I have a feeling this is going to be the base defense for the linebackers. I get wanting your best athletes on the field and think this works fine for some of the teams on the schedule, but I am really concerned with holding the edge with Lewis.

MacIntyre said freshmen offensive linemen Kanan Ray and Casey Roddick, both of whom have yet to put on pads because of injuries, continue to progress. However, MacIntyre said, both are likely candidates for redshirts. Under the new rule, that means they could still play four games this year, and with both expected to be back by midway through the season, the opportunity for both to get a little playing time could occur.

Best news so far regarding Kanan Ray.

My biggest concern remains the left side of the OL.

At the very least, please be half as good as your size indicates.

Not to sound disrespectful, but Ralphie doesn't seem to be paying attention. Juwann has plenty of help and is only a good option rather than the primary option.

Roper, who has tutored a number of quality college quarterbacks who went on to enjoy NFL careers — including two-time Super Bowl MVP Eli Manning — has two basic tenets of playing the position: take care of the ball and make plays.

He is not a fan of the "game manager" philosophy.

"So many people say, 'Well, this quarterback, all he has to be is a game manager and distribute the ball,'" Roper said. "Quarterbacks can't just manage the game. They have to manage the game, but they also have to make plays. We rely on those guys to make a lot of plays."

Also from Woelk's article regarding Montez:
In 15 career starts, he's had eight games with more touchdowns than interceptions, and the Buffs are 6-2 in those games.

More evidence to back up that as Montez goes, so go our Buffs. If we get "good Montez" all season, it's very realistic that we win about 75% of our games.

Players make plays?
