Official 2022 Bowl Games Thread

Must have had too many bowl slots to fill and too few teams who had .500 records and no more than 1 win vs an FCS. When that happens, they go down the list of teams that are 1 win short and the best academic performance (APR score, if they still go by that) gets picked.

I'll keep beating that drum until someone actually proves otherwise. FSU has the worst academics in the MWC, a conference that includes SJSU, UNLV, and Boise State.

They would instantly become the worst academic school in P5, by a large margin.

It's not going to happen.

Caveat to it is that there may be change coming from the CA legislature which limited graduate degrees and research intensity in the Cal State system.
 
With all the recruiting news we haven't been paying much attention to the bowls.

This Armed Forces Bowl is a fun one to watch.

Interesting to see Baylor trying to run option concepts against Air Force. They see so much of it in practice that nothing opens up.

And fun to see the Texans trying to deal will the cold. Fort Worth isn't supposed to be a cold place.

Corpus has a wind chill feel of 12. The 30 mph winds are what really F’ing this place up.

Luke Fickell is coaching Wisconsin in its bowl game. I don't think I've ever seen that before. Trying to decide how I feel about it.

It's a great opportunity to get to know the players. But a bowl is also a celebration of a season he had nothing to do with.

Eh. A celebration of a 6-6 season, one of the worst in Wisconsin’s recent history? One in which their HC got fired and the interim golden boy given every chance to take the job was just more of the same

Fickell acknowledged it was a bit awkward at times, but everyone involved agreed it was best for him to start developing relationships and getting to know the team. The members of their fan base that I know are excited about Fickell and happy to see him coaching this game.

The sentiment in the tweet is fair though.
 
Getting back on the Gus bus, hoping UCF can take down Duke. Arkansas-Kansas should be pretty good as well.
 
We should bring in Maye just to push Shedeur a bit in spring ball.
 
I’ll admit I thought Arkansas was going to be legit this year. Man, was I wrong. Horribly coached. Lots of talent. They need to get a new staff.
