TLDR RANT
You know what, **** Scott Frost, what a little wiener he is.
You know what’s a tough situation? Being hired to replace a guy who won 9 games a year - a guy who no returning players wanted fired, including captains, as they actively speak out about it in the media. Having your career record at your previous school become the punchline among former and current players at your new school while every decision you ever make is questioned. You are supposed to completely overhaul the offensive system, without a QB to truly air it out, and with a team that doesn’t trust you and doesn’t want you there. And you know what? Riley did a pretty freaking decent job year one. They didn’t lose a game by more than 10pts, suffered a heartbreaking loss on a Hail Mary to BYU, won a bowl game, and even beat top ten Michigan State at home. Year 2 is a bit of smoke and mirrors, but Nebraska wins 9 games.
Then, their dumb boosters force Riley to fire his long time DC (couldn’t even fire him in person because he was so ashamed) in his make or break year and install Diaco’s new 3-4 scheme when everyone on Earth knew he only had 1 season to get results. And it was bad, 4-8 is bad and the blowouts were terrible. Fire that loser! A trained monkey can win 9 games at Nebraska!
Frost comes in as the golden child, given a 7 year contract and more time, support, and understanding than any coach ever. He’s paid as a top 3 coach in his conference and gets to bring his entire G5 staff with him because he just won the national championship and he makes the ****ing rules. The entire Nebraska cult, from fans to former players, volunteer their support and their money to make sure everything is taken care of for him. And all offseason, he tells their slowpoke fans that the team is farther along than UCF ever was, that they’re not looking at a rebuild, and that they’re planning to play in the conference championship game. Then they get hit in the mouth and crumble, making mistake after mistake in their first two losses while Frost blames everyone but himself. They then get stomped by Michigan - to the point that a Michigan player says the Huskers, AND THEIR COACHES, quit on the game - yet it’s still everyone else’s ****ing fault?
Oh, and guess what? Michigan players and coaches admit there was a little added sweetness to “leaving no doubt” about outhitting your new team because of a stupid ass whiny comment you made after a loss at your previous school. Great job, loser, you got your new guys an extra tough beatdown like Major Payne did when he setup his squad. I’m sure you don’t care, despite insisting that your heart hurt for them after each of the previous losses, you now made sure to clarify multiple times today that they aren’t YOUR players.
**** you, you soft wuss. I hope your team continues to take on your soft personality and you end up failing at Nebraska, ultimately having to take on an analyst job to join the ranks of Jim McElwain and Butch Jones as guys who constantly put their foot in their mouth while not being as good of head coaches as they think they are.
