Official ****braska Hate Thread

I didn't even know that Cincinnati had a football team until they mysteriously showed up as a conference opponent for the Buffs last year. Having said that, I'll be a big (looks up mascot) Bearcat fan on August 28th. Or I would be, if I wasn't going to be in the Teton Wilderness (I'll be back the next day for the Buffs' game).
For some reason, I legit forgot that we played them last year. So I watched the highlights. I know Travis was the player of the game just about every game but he had some silly catches in this one, and how they left him almost all alone at the very end of the first half is coaching mistake of the highest degree.

Watching these highlights, makes me worry that we're once again going to have to fight through biased officials.

I was furious during that game. The bull**** PI on the interception and the uncalled extra-curricular violence against Travis.

Of course I will root against nebraska when they meet Cincinnati in Arrowhead, but it might be harder than I thought to root for Cincinnati (and again, I won't be forced to watch it). I hate our stupid conference.

I turned that one off after like his 9th Heisman pose. Disgusting

I was in Vegas. We had just gone to an afternoon wedding and then lots of drinking afterward. At midnight we were heading to the Sin City Halloween Ball. I was half heartedly trying to to watch the game while trying to nap a little. Ergo, I too basically forgot we played Cincy and can’t recall a damn thing about that game.

At least you have an excuse. I was in attendance, and still forgot.

I vaguely remember a game thread where the Cinci fans were pissy about something. Maybe the refs, maybe Travis' Heisman poses.
They weren’t pissy but their, either official school or barstool, account on twitter put out a tweet that was very directly implying that Sorsby was a better QB than Sanders lol

In person, it felt like a game we couldn't quite put away so you could enjoy seeing which backups would flash in the 4th quarter. Instead, you were thinking, please no, please no crazy ass comeback.

Jesus these people. On3 left the Huskers off their recent list of 12 teams that are bluebloods so this SI article makes the case that they are really #4, going back 30-40 years approximately (600 games)... OK dude, I see your point. Nebraska used to be good but they are dog**** since 2001 complete undressing in Boulder and have not been good since and certainly nothing close to the blueblood list!

This article does nothing other than try to pump up Husker fan's self image by ignoring the reality of not 10, but the last 20 years.

Yep, and Harvard and Army have multiple national championships.

If you want to make a list of "Historically great" programs you might be able to put Nebraska on it. It's like trying to make the case that UCLA is one of the great basketball programs in the nation because of what they did in the past. How many Natties have they won lately, how many final fours in recent years.

Difference is that UCLA could actually become a baskeball power again. The days of Nebraska as a dominant program in college football are over. Recruits don't look at them as a desirable destination, they don't have the resources to outspend everybody anymore and they can't win through better chemistry.

The last time that Nebraska was relevant in college football today's recruits weren't even born. Calling them a blueblood is nothing more than putting a click button on an column.

Why is Tennessee on that list (that’s being referenced)?

um UCLA was in the final 4 in 2021...

Granted their last national championships were both in the mid/late '90s, UCLA has been relevant in the last 20 years.

I know this is about NU, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a school (ISU) that avoids wearing their school colors so much. They love them some black unis.

Matt Campbell gave Iowa State fans an official look at the new uniforms he promised were on the way for the 2018 season.

The Iowa State football coach tweeted an image Tuesday of three new designs, one white, one cardinal and, most notably, a black alternate that features white numbers and grey outlines.

Colors for the helmets and pants match the jerseys for each set, with all three helmets featuring Iowa State athletics' primary logo. The logo is transformed to black and grey for the alternate design.

Iowa State debuted charcoal jerseys in 2016, Campbell's first season and unveiled an alternate helmet logo last year.

The new uniforms will first be in action Saturday, Sept. 1 when Iowa State hosts South Dakota State to kick off the season.
