Oh...that is simply delightful lunch. The Curse of Black Friday was brought up in another thread and prompted me to go back all the way to 2001 after that awful, pitiful, and miserable game. Since that day.....
****braska is....
26-68
....against POWER 5 schools that have finished with a 57% (7-5) win percentage or better in a given year. Probably worth noting that there are a handful of games ****braska has won vs teams that finished 7-6 but when push comes to shove, there's not enough of them to change that awful record by much. It's easy to know that it shouldn't be good considering how underwhelming ****braska has been for a long long time but I like putting stats to things.

Of course these days that would probably be considered an illegal block from behind, or targeting a defenseless player or some such nonsense.

I'm happy a new generation of football fans learned to forget CSU as a rival and embrace the hate of ****braska these last few fateful weeks. There was simply no way to be near them, and their mealy-mouthed gloating ways this weekend and not despise them. They are the worst fans in college football.
2. Colorado
One valuable lesson from Colorado’s 34-31 win in OT over Nebraska: Be efficient. No one has to be good all the time. In fact, if you’re down 17-0 at the half against a historical rival in a home stadium packed with the other team’s fans, save being good for when you really, really need it.
Neither Nebraska nor Colorado has four good quarters of football in them. Nebraska foolishly spent most of their excellence in the first half, whereas the Buffaloes wisely sat on their reserves, waited out all this pesky effort the Cornhuskers exerted, and then went ham in the second half, scoring 31 points in 17 minutes and taking the Cornhuskers to overtime for the eventual win.
Football’s hard enough already. Nebraska, being perfectionists, made the mistake of trying to ace every assignment. Colorado made it much easier on themselves by sleeping late and only showing up for a half. They only needed to pass the final, y’all, and they aced it on three hours’ sleep. If that doesn’t put the college in college football, nothing does.
I don't believe for a second that, had the Fuskers won the game, guys like Domann and Washington plus their assface head coach would not have been chirping about "Revenge Tours" and "taking it to them in their house in front of our fans" etc. etc.It was galling watching CU coaches and players taunt us in the post game.
"Agreed. We all need to wrap our minds around an unpleasant truth: we are not a very good football team right now and haven’t been decent in several years. Basically, we have three things going for us: a passionate fan base, good coaches (I still think that), and tradition.
But the University is lower tier academically, our football facilities are very average by today’s standards, and recruits have no memory of when we were good.
Hate to say it, but we are Tennessee to an extent. Not quite that bad (better coaches and more stability), but a proud program with a passionate fan base that can’t seem to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.
It was galling watching CU coaches and players taunt us in the post game. But hey... that is what winners get to do. They have beaten us two years in a row.
We need to keep our effing mouths shut until we win again when it matters ."

I think Saturday may have killed their will.
Don't recall seeing any mention of it, but that Stanley one-handed grab at the south end of the field was clutch.

Absolutely not. We have one animal, and that is a Buffalo. No dogs, no cats nothing but a majestic corn stomping beast.Clearly we need a Buff Corgi thread.
Can we make the Corgi the official dog of the buffs?
Are those jorts?I was perusing the newspaper coverage from Omaha and came across me and my goofy shorts celebrating (i.e. “taunting”) ****braska fans. I also just noticed that Sombrero Guy is in the same pic. Sombrero guy is the one that had the funny hug with Mel Tucker and an assistant coach immediately after the kick went wide right. Just AMAZING.
(I had to go sleeveless for the 2nd half, I was melting on the East side of the stadium)

I withdraw my request.

But it is challenging for each of us to have said monarch at home.
