I don't believe anyone is claiming he played "amazing" defense. So you're basically mounting an argument against a non-existent party. What I am purporting is that Jahi has the ability to absolutely take over a game and put up 30-40 pts. XT did an admirable job at forcing him into bad/hurried shots and help defenders like Scott and Gordon. This helped us win the game, which by the way, I feel you are overlooking the fact that WE WON THE GAME GOING AWAY.
and my argument is that he did a worse job defending him than his counterpart at Arizona, USC, Washington, and Cal. I didn't go back and look at every game that ASU played this year and don't want to look at teams like Oregon (who suck at defense) or OSU/WSU who play zone defense. Here is what Talton said in his post game presser:
“It’s hard stopping good players. We knew that he liked to go right and he got there quite a bit, but we tried to cut that off and we tried to let him shoot contested jump shots. That’s what our plan was to do.”
Now do you think that he took a lot of contested jump shots?
