Official CU Club Sports Thread

I'd assume there has probably been MANY things I could already have posted about various club teams' accomplishments so far this academic year, but happened to notice the below.

Congrats to women's ice hockey on attaining their highest ever ranking, and hope they keep it up or even rise towards #1!

That's great to see on women's ice hockey. Very interesting to see RG taking notice. He's got to know that ice hockey has a lot of potential as varsity sports at CU.

Looks like the women's club hockey team is playing in their WWCHL conference championship game starting about now.

For anyone interested, stream looks to be available through https://portal.stretchinternet.com/midland/ , with direct access looking to be available at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/midland/portal.htm?eventId=429874&streamType=video .

Edit- Buffs get the 1st goal RIGHT after I posted this.

I so want to see hockey teams as a varsity sport at CU. If RG can find the ice, I think this would be very successful. Not just competing for national championships, but also able to run without losing money.

Women won today, 3-2 with a last minute goal. Anyone know the format of the tournament?

Couldn't find who the Buffs might play next. But:
  • Per http://pointstreaksites.com/view/achanationals/womens-d1/about-w1 - "The tournament is an eight team, best two out of three first round format with the winning team from each matchup advancing to the single elimination semi-finals."
  • Nice the Buffs swept Michigan State, as it earns them an off-day Friday.
  • Looks like it was an upset, at least seeding-wise, as the Buffs were the #6 seed, MSU #3.
  • Different web pages for the championships-
Schedule (with scores to date) - http://achawnationals.stats.pointstreak.com/leagueschedule.html?leagueid=1799&seasonid=17824
(Looks like the two D1 semifinals are at 10:15 AM MT and 1:15 PM MT Saturday, with the Championship match the following day (Sunday) at 3:15 PM MT.)

Score board (Saturday's page- no teams listed yet as I type this.) - http://achawnationals.wttstats.poin...ueid=1799&seasonid=16487&next=2&date=03/17/18

Youtube page for live streams (and looks like past matches are also available to view) - https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLoGcdOwSpA5DNUGseAzYzVrTqYG5Sq6Kc

Congrats to the Buffs for the win!

Nationals as in tournament or championship game?

As I also remembered from a year or two ago, a tournament, with 16 team fields each in D1 and D2 per http://mcla.us/tournaments/championships. That page lists each championship game, and also contains links to each game's live stats/ gametracker . (The link for the Buff's 1st round game live stats is http://mcla.us/game/22673).

Looking back at earlier posts of this thread, looks like there were even some live streams (and definitely game replays) in prior years' available at the governing body's (MCLA's) Youtube page (https://www.youtube.com/user/OfficialMCLA/featured). (Assume the team's social media pages will let folks know if/ when there will be live streams available.)

As if having all 3 fall D1 team sports (football, soccer and volleyball) competing at the same time this evening isn't enough, there's also an option for hockey fans.
