Official CU-Washington Pregame Thread

Belly laughs in the control room? SAY IT TO MY FACE? Nothing?

I can't make the search function work, but this was the whole huskie troll thing that showed up shortly after we joined the Pac. Huskie fans ****ing suck.
They blow goats

I was looking for it too. 5 reasons...
That was the clue I needed!

It's been clear for weeks now that this staff is getting the young guys as much playing time as possible, particularly in the Secondary. I'm thinking it's because KD knows he has 2-3 years and he is trying to get as many guys as much experience as possible
In contrast: Bill McC red-shirted his entire 1983 freshmen class - except 2 ends: Embree and Rheinhart

Is that just a factoid or is there a point being made? I've seen mention several times recently of how Mac redshirted a lot of guys in the 80s.

game day plan:

exercise, run the dog, chores, liquor run.

then, settle in at kickoff for what could be a competitive game for a few brief moments. prepare for bitter disappointment.

pls. prove me wrong, Buffs.

sincerely,

stockholm syndrome fan

Mickey Pruitt mentioned that in his Hall of Fame speech. It's interesting, to me anyway, to figure his motives. Each of those guys matured and learned a lot of football in that year and the bonding between them must have been incredible. If you bring in a good class, do you get them right out on the field and go for immediate victories, or do you save them all for next year, to mesh them with the class you're bringing in? I never heard of a coach doing that, and you can compare it to KD playing 4 freshman DBs at the same time.
And, sometimes it's wothwhile to share facts, without having any particular motive.

it is a different time. transfer portal.

if you don't play guys then they leave. where i think we HAVE ****ed up in pipeline planning is on the lines. given we have a hard time getting dl and ol who are ready right away, we should over sign and plan on mostly redshirting.

You are right, I didn't think about that

Play the most talented guys. Period.

The days of mass redshirting are over. If a guy has potential to be a top tier starter, better get him on the field or you're just choosing to get 1 less year of game play from him before he enters the draft.

Only way that this and transfer portal don't matter is if recruiting sucks. If that's the case, it really doesn't matter what you do in terms of redshirting since you won't be winning anyway.
