Posted this in the Laviska thread but F it. Can't be posted enough!
Funny not funny thing is, last year he throws a rope into the back of the DB's head. That, or the closing safety picks it off.No dissing Viska but that was mostly Montez...dropped it on a f ing dime!!! After getting sacked 7 times and rattled all game...to throw that perfect pass at a crucial time was amazeballs!!! Montez is POG to me since he got no help from the OL.
I hated the squib kick. Especially in this series.
I wasn’t listening to the radio broadcast. I wonder if GB said anything? It nearly gave me PTSD.
CU got dominated in the first half. If it weren't for the turnovers, we are hardly in the game half way through. But check out the second half stats.
We unquestionably won the second half. On the road. In front of 90,000 people and a FBS opponent.[TBODY] [/TBODY]
CU NU Score 16 7 Turnovers 0 1 Yards Gained 265 226 Missed FG 2 1
Great adjustments by the staff and our emerging stars did their thing.
Scoreboard bitches!
you already have it...you were in control of yourself this time.It nearly gave me PTSD.

I thought that was about as good a coached game mac has had here. He also didn’t freak out and go for two at the end of the third. Two fourth down conversions and two fourth down stops. You can add the last 5 minutes of the first half to those stats.
That drive for the FG at the end of the half was very important, too.
NU kicked our asses at the beginning of the game, it's true, but we made the plays we had to to stay in the game until we got our feet under us.
Edit: actually, only the last 2:30. We were still getting our asses kicked at the 5 minute mark, lol.
Wonder where he got those stats. I can't find them.
I’d say rather than the usual 3 or 4 point advantage home teams get, ‘braska had a 7 to 10 point HFA.
Yes, sir!You can add the last 5 minutes of the first half to those stats.

Instead of running option on that 4th down play, I thought we had them perfectly set up for the Viska Cat with a pop pass. I was disappointed that we didn’t run that.It was a dumb call by Chev. The call should have been Viska Wild Cat, and at some point a pop pass out of that is going to happen.
Gary? Is that you?It nearly gave me PTSD.
This site is really good!Wonder where he got those stats. I can't find them.

I’ve told this story before but many years ago I got the chance to talk to Joel Klatt when he was one of the players representing CU at Big 12 media day here in Houston. We were talking about playing Nebraska and he said he remembered getting a play call from the sideline during a game in Lincoln, to run the option. He said the thing that ran through his mind was that he would be the slowest QB to run the option in that stadium’s history!Running the option to weakside of the field is never a good idea. Ever. Especially when their defensive front has been kicking your ass all game.
Kinney could return to punt in two more games this year at season end and preserve his redshirt.According to Mac, Kinney could possibly return this season but with the new NCAA redshirt rule, he would have a full year of eligibility left if he waited until next year. Kickers hardly ever get injured but we’ve lost two at the beginning of the year two of the last three seasons. Who would’ve thought kicker depth is important?
Thank you. Instead, they hike it back so they now have to go 7 yards and six inches. And hell, put Shenault under Center and do a Bad Ass sneak. They needed six inches on the fourth down play, why they didn't go QB sneak is confusing.
Agreed with everybody. NU threw everything they had at us knowing we had no film and a jacked up home crowd. The players and coaches adjusted and didn’t make mistakes while capitalizing on the huskers mistakes and found a way to win. Was very positive to see.You can add the last 5 minutes of the first half to those stats.

Darian Hagan made a living doing that.Running the option to weakside of the field is never a good idea. Ever. Especially when their defensive front has been kicking your ass all game.

Yeah, but you said “never. Ever.”Those were much different times.

You gotta trust your big QB to pick up half a yard.
I trust Montez, but I wouldn’t have trusted the offensive line to get the necessary push yesterday. They were just physically outmatched in the run game. I still didn’t like the play call, but I can see not going with the QB keep there. You gotta trust your big QB to pick up half a yard.
Remember when Neuheisel would run the option with koy Detmer. Fun times! Those were much different times.
