Reality Check.
Bobo called a heck of a game and gave his team a chance to win based on excellent play calling
CU played the cleanest game they have in YEARS. Very few penalties, no turnovers, no delay of games, no PI penalties, no subbing errors etc. I have to think back to the the late season games in the early 2000’s to remember such a well coached effort. Very disciplined and clean football.
Jay Johnson has installed an excellent college offense that allows the players to make plays. We are in great shape with him calling plays. For the first time in years, I don’t hear clown music when I watch out offense.
Montez still can’t read a defense but probably has the raw talent to win 6 games this year. Not an NFL QB.
We need to protect the perimeter better on defense, but overall I’m gonna give this effort a solid B/B+. It is clear to me that we have a GREAT coach that will get his team to a six win season.
For the first time in years I see a team that isn’t going to beat itself. That is a HUGE improvement over the past two decades.
Major variable: SEC offenses may not be as good as other conferences, boosting the defensive statistics. I’ve watched too many bowl games/non-con games where the other team is magically competitive with SEC teams to think there’s a major gap. Maybe the SEC is overall better but not by much and certainly not by enough to where bringing in coaches from that conference will be the magic ingredient to transforming a team. If MT makes the Buffs better, it’s because he’s a damn good coach. Not because he learned some magic formula from his 4 years in the SEC coaching under recruiting juggernauts.I’m going to research this and get back. It seems like it’ll take some statistical compiling for league wide averages.

To me, the biggest red flags were from missed tackles. Landman, for instance, got embarrassed on 3 chunk plays from csu when he could’ve made play saving tackles.
HCMT >>> Furking NewheiselWas nice to see a coaching staff make halftime adjustments for the first since GB/RN
HCMT would have criedI really do not miss Former Head Coach MM’s lame facial expressions! Probably not a good poker player.
Proud our coach is Mel “Rock” Tucker!!!

For sure. There was one in particular that was so awful I had to look twice to make sure it was him.
At the same time, it seemed like on all of those plays he or someone else was out of position and he was scrambling to get to the runner, and didn't have time to break down properly.
This is part of having a better coach!I do think our level of conditioning showed really well in the 2nd half. Maybe for once we actually are better conditioned than our opponents.
Your wife is fatThey don’t sell alcohol in the stadium?? What the **** horse **** is this?
Thank B_Walk. He reverse mojo’ed us to a win. You ungrateful beyotches! To be fair, B_Walk said things were bad, so that means.....
Nah. I’m not going to say it.
Just on defense and for good reason. We forced one punt against a CSU team that went 3-9 last year. Guys were out of position on seemingly every play, Landman looked JAGy, our CBs were as below average as we thought, Wells and Van Diest looked lost, and our DL was getting pushed back at the point of attack. So of you fans are insufferable and these live threads remind me why I don't post in the football forum much. One would think we are the worse football team in the country reading this thread.
I am pretty over MT's SEC elitest attitude. I think this was hopefully a wake up call to him. Next weekend will really be a wake up call. CU isn't in the mid-american league, ITS NOT INTRAMURALS BROTHA
That quote they threw up on the screen was a bad look. smh

Definitely looked like players were just lost/ confused. Need to simplify the defense for now.Just on defense and for good reason. We forced one punt against a CSU team that went 3-9 last year. I’m usually not one to ride the emotional wave like that, but it was ugly from the start for the defense, and it was/is extremely concerning.
My thought too. Their only attempt to tie together context was when they said that MT as a DC for UGA, used that message to recruits. What he said was a blinding flash of the obvious of the prevailing opinion (perhaps not fact) that the PAC12 knows and competes against every day.It was taken completely out of context though.
