***Official UW @ Colorado 2014 Football Game thread***

Really? I think this is the best coach we have had in years. You would roll the dice again and start all over again? I think we would be fools to do that. That's part of why we are in the hole we are in.

Can't be afraid to go back to the well, just because you are afraid you could do worse than a no-name coach who loses and can't recruit. just saying.

We had the chance, and UW just showed with better talent and a better mental performance.

I thought we had this game. We were up 17-7, had the ball, and had scored every time we had the ball.

Since then, it's been a comedy of errors.

You really are an ass.

I wonder why you are here... you are better at trash talking your own team than opposing team fans are. I just don't get why you even watch... why not wait until CU actually wins again then jump on the bandwagon and act as if you were always here. Hey it may take a few years, hell, it may take several. Just don't get it.

In slider's defense, the Washington trolls are really bad at trash talking.

Yeah, gotta admit I have felt the same way about a few folks here. There is nothing wrong with being angry and frustrated (in fact...I feel that way myself!) but I don't understand the posters who talk about us like they are fans of another team.

That and the "We need to hire a new coach!" people are hard for me to relate to. I don't know what people like that think our options are or what they think we are all of a sudden going to be able to bring in here (coaching-wise) to turn things around. Switching coaches has not been good for us historically most of the time. If you find someone who seems halfway decent, don't get greedy...give them a chance to do what you hired them to do (my opinion anyway...). Everyone when discussing the Buffs is saying how much better coached we are. Why would you trade that for the gamble that would be a coaching switch?

We have everything to attract a quality, proven HC now.

No doubt, firing 3 coaches in 6 years would make CU very attractive.

Give MacIntyre his time. Give him the materials to be successful (including time). If he hasn't progressed after 5 years - make a change.

Did Mac's son steal your girlfriend or something? You have had an axe to grind on him since his arrival... before he even had a chance to coach a down.

LOL. No I do not personally dislike Mac. Quite the opposite actually. 2 years in and staring at a winless conference record doesn't exactly inspire hope

Look I'm frustrated as hell. If not for some bad calls and self inflicted mistakes you could make the argument we could be 5-1 in conference. There are things the staff does that irritates me...like rotating backs when one guy is tearing it up (Adkins today), but anyone wanting a coaching change needs their head checked. We could have won every game except the USC one. Now if we aren't pulling some of these out next year then it may be time to think about making a change. But we are very competitive right now even though it is frustrating to lose.

Pretty big gamble to make, when you owe the current coach $10+ million.

Yeah. The extension this last year was mind boggling. How COULD you extend him? He had 4 years on his contract. And it won't scare recruits away because he has none to begin with.

Can you read? And LOL at 5 years.

You can thank the guy slider is counting on to pick CU's next football coach for that.

That's not saying much. And I'm not advocating firing him this year. Just patiently waiting for the inevitable a year or two down the road

It may not be saying much, but it shows you how easily you can hire the wrong person. This faith that a new coach will fix everything is belied by the historical evidence. The chances of having a good hire are less than having a bad one (or a sideways move...which is a negative since the disrupt the continuity...which is only worth it for a significant coaching upgrade)
