It usually takes time to develop a BCS-starting caliber DT. Expecting a RS-Freshman to have "proven himself" is not realistic. You cannot have it both ways.
Poston was a solid DT prospect in his own right, but some teams saw him as a DE. Poole is obviously a bigger question mark because he doesn't have a long track record of playing football, doesn't come from a football-rich area, and has had little coaching compared to most D-I football players. Don't expect anything from him and we could be pleasantly surprised.
Obviously we need more players at DT so that when 2012 and 2013 comes around those guys are hitting their peaks.
Finding a true freshman or sophomore DE that can make an immediate impact is a lot easier than a DT, so it isn't as crucial for this class IMO. Both should be high priorities, but DT much more so for this class and the next.
