Any of these guys ready to play come pac 12 play?

MM said today they know who their top 7-8 OL are. They just don't know five best yet.

Moretti was dinged up earlier if I recall correctly.

Moretti is out with knee complications. Texas frosh all look good but won't play this year, barring several injuries as they are not next up.

Lots of flexibility with Irwin and Kaiser. But you could see one frosh on inside depending how center position shakes out.

It would appear that Kough and Huckins have struggled some. Expect to see some more shifting around to find best mix.

Per the DC, Huckins went out with an injury against TSU, which is why Lynott got snaps at C.

2013: Graham, Huckins, Kronshage, Lisella, Sutton
2014: Holland, Kaiser, Miller, Weifels
2015: Haigler, Lynott, Middlemiss, Tonz
2016: Pursell, Lytle, Vaughn

There's a reason Bernardi was demoted.

The talent has been a question. Not surprising they are struggling somewhat.

ok..so they are average across the board...Everyone has been saying Lynott is a super star.

Have people been fibbing?

Playing OL at 100% is hard. It's exhausting and painful. I'm still working under the assumption that these guys will be able to dial it up a notch or two in Pac12 play.

Need serious in-week improvement each week from this group. It is the basis for the offense reaching potential.

What do you think is optimal combo?
I really couldn't answer that truthfully because I haven't seen quite a few of them play. During the Washington game is when I'd have something to gauge off of. You can only learn so much from HS clips imho.

I know this is a major curveball, but could it be the move?

The following was in the Wednesday practice report on Rivals:

-According to MacIntyre, left tackle Jeromy Irwin has made large improvements in his development over the six years he’s been at Colorado and has the ability to play anywhere on the line.

Irwin did start at OG as a true frosh.

I don't know if C is a possibility but I do consider it the most important spot on a college OL. I really like the idea of Miller-Kough-Irwin-Lynott-Haigler as our best 5.

Lynott at C (projectable position) and Irwin at OG.

The OL has been crap. again, the preseason hype about "the best OL around here in a while" is sort of like the "Marques Harris is unblockable" schtick.
It was Conrad Obi who was unblockable, but your point is well made. We get hype every year on somebody. Tim Coleman was the guy at the beginning of the year. It morphed into the entire offensive line.

OK, Conrad Ob i then...or Phil Jackson has an unreal backpeddle, or Patrick Williams is catching everything thrown to him...I suppose every SID flings poo in the pre-season, it just gets old. I wait for the games to be played now before I get too worked up about how good or bad the team is.

Klayton is clearly pissed. During the Texas State game, he pulled Kaiser early and Miller ended up playing 64 of 77 snaps.

Here are some quotes from the new Woelk piece:

"We're going to find five guys who are willing to finish the play every single snap, all the way to the whistle and try to drive somebody into the ground," Adams said. "If we find five guys who are willing to do that, I don't care who it is, I don't care what year they're in, I don't care how many games they've played. Those will be our five guys."

The fact that the Buffs' line has not yet been a cohesive unit has come as a surprise. Several times in fall camp, MacIntyre said he expected this year's group to be the best he has had in his five years in Boulder.

Adams said he expected the same — and their performance thus far has been "disappointing, to say the least."

"It falls on me," Adams said. "It's up to to make sure it happens, and playing with that physical mentality has been a real focal point for us for the last two weeks. I'm hopeful that we'll see a lot of it this weekend."

This year's OOC schedule has been a blessing in disguise, no matter what anyone says.
