Oliver's Injury Conspiracy

Still say he should do what is in his best interest, end of story. Always one play away, that's the ****ty part of it.

Many mocks have IO as a first rounder. Given his track background and strong develoment at CU, an injury free IO will dominate the combine and wow evaluators in private workouts. This should only solidify his place as a first rounder. He has plenty of solid film. Not only is he gone after this season, I don’t think he plays again for CU. Playing for CU is not worth the risk to millions of dollars.

So some NFL Dilbert says a kid is a 1st round lock. Well obviously the kid should wrap himself in bubble wrap and not play another college game ever. Screw your teammates, your school and start acting like a overpaid, flag kneeling jerk. I like college football because it’s not the NFL and the kids play for the love of the game. College years are about growing up, figuring out what leadership is, learning how to win and lose. The NFL can wait.
You live in a fantasy world

There is no perfect right or wrong here. I just wanted to point out with this thread that the way that Oliver's injury is being treated is suspicious because of the secrecy. I would bet that someone in Oliver's camp has quickly reminded the University to keep EVERY single detail private as mentioned by others on here because that is the law. We need Oliver at least in the Utah game to win that one, and I have no issue with him getting to at least 90-100% healthy, and the idea of a re-injury (soft tissue) is a really big deal because those just linger. Because this is amateur football, he does not owe us anything (although the idea that the terminology in your scholarship might have something to say about that would be interesting from a legal standpoint), and sadly he has gone from a great prospect to a first rounder, and I am not sure he could even get himself insured for a draft policy because he has a pre-existing injury. He is in a no win situation, and I support him either way and just hope that he can get healthy and at least play the Utah game and help this team get to a bowl game.

Conspiracy theorists/character assassins be damned - Oliver played lights out tonight...........we'll be seeing him in the NFL this time next year!

At times he looked like a guy playing hurt. He wasn't full speed but he played hard.

I think it is probable that he goes pro but that isn't for sure either. He is an interesting guy who makes his own decisions, wouldn't shock me if he stays.

I agree but don’t tell me had a great game

He also got beat by some NFL throws on patterns that nobody covers effectively if the ball is there like it was.

The fr. WR was a highly ranked prospect with a load of talent and the QB is going to be making millions soon.

Never said Oliver was great tonight but I probably respect him more now than I did before. He didn't have to play today but he strapped it up. That's a teammate you want.

Guess my point was lost. You give a 1st round QB draft pick forever and a day to complete his passes and he's going to make some - hell even Baby Hawkins could have completed 21+ with that protection tonight. Break the game down.....you'll see that Oliver had some crazy pass break-ups and handled Jones, better than most linebackers. if Isiah gets snubbed in the Draft, then I'll eat,my crow then promptly blame my bad judgement on the Mary-Jane......even though she would be completely innocent in this instance. .

Oliver didn’t play many snaps in the 2H. Udoffia was out there in the 2H playing where IO was in the 1H. IO did not look like himself & seemed either hesitant about reinjury or not fully healthy. Either way, he was ineffective.

In the radio broadcast, GB said that he believed Oliver was playing hurt. I agree. And if he was, hats off to him for trying.

Whether Oliver was 100% yesterday or not (who knows), he had some rust to shake off. Tough spot with Darnold dialed in and playing as well as he was. He battled and I appreciated that he was out there for his teammates and our seniors.

I agree with all the Oliver philes above . I love him too but he had a mediocre game. That is all I’m saying.
Also to Zapata.....your avatar is by far the best far side and maybe the greatest cartoon in history!

My favorite was this one:

Larson was a genius cartoonist.

This is the second funniest one next to the rattlesnake and the peg leg.
The world is not as great of a place since he retired.
