I may be way off base, but I don't think Neuter Lame actually gets that many great players. What they get are guys that are middle of the road, but automatically get 4* or 5* once it's known that ND is recruiting them. That, coupled with Charlie Cheeseburger's inept game planning & preparation make them an entirely average team.
