Other Games 09/18 - 09/20

Tulsa played like ass that second half, and kicked FGs on 4 of their 5 scoring drives when they were moving the ball. Missed a ton of tackles too.

It's bad enough for Gundy to lose to Tulsa, but to lose to them when they didn't even play all that well is beyond embarrassing.

Rutgers offense this half showing that their 3-0 start came with playing terrible teams. They aren't the worst team in the B1G but as they play the better teams they are going to lose some ugly ones.

Gundy just wants to get fired.
Don't know that he "wants" to get fired. just think he is in "don't care" mode.

Gundy's Okie State program is reminding me of the same sense I got with the Dorrell Buffs. A who cares attitude about recruiting settling for guys the other schools don't prioritize, taking seconds from the portal, and going through the motions in coaching. Gundy used to ooze emotion after games win or lose. This game, like others recently he was there but losing to a team that Okalahoma State should never lose to didn't look like he was all that surprised or deeply upset.

Gundy should go into TV whenever he's done down there.

Poll movement last week:

Percent of AP Poll points by conference:

Big movers

Up:
Texas A&M +8.5 pts/poll, for beating Notre Dame, crazy how much poll movement there is on a real coinflip of a game that literally could have gone either way on one play

Georgia Tech +6.5, for beating Clemson, also on the last play

Vandy +6.0, for whipping South Carolina

Ole Miss +4.0, on a close win, at home, over Arkansas... ???, maybe just primarily the benefit of Clemson, Notre Dame and South Carolina falling, also jumped Tennessee who lost to Georgia in OT.

Utah +3.1, Alabama +3.0, Texas Tech +2.8, Mizzou +2.8, Auburn +2.6, FSU +2.3, Oklahoma +2.3

Down:

Clemson -13.7, seems harsh to me for a last second loss, notable that it's >2x the size of Georgia Tech's gain, and primarily SEC teams were sitting in the 10-25 range where they all soak up the votes that Clemson was getting. Aggressively, rough result for the ACC on the ballots for Georgia Tech to win that one.

Notre Dame -13.6, So interesting that the drop is so harsh for the outcome in these super tight games if you already have another tough loss. It will be interesting to see if Tennessee takes a big drop if they lose a second close one, like Clemson and Notre Dame did this week.

South Carolina: -13.0, Nice to see the fall be similar sized for an SEC team losing a conference game, a lot of the poll shift on the conference level just does seem to come from which conference is crowding the ranks in the teens.

USF -5.6, they needed to be closer to Miami to hang on more ballots.

Texas -2.4, The mystique of Arch has worn off.

Really interested to see the rise/fall for Utah and Texas Tech for whatever comes out of that matchup, and compare it to Auburn/Oklahoma and Indiana/Illlinois.

Big 10 probably benefits from USC taking care of Michigan State in that matchup of 3-0 teams.

Coming off of 6 point and 7 point wins against middling to bad SEC teams, Ole Miss's support should be a little shaky, what happens if they play close with Tulane?

TCU vs SMU is a key matchup for the Big XII's profile.

The winner of ASU/Baylor needs to keep winning through the rest of the season as well.

This Vandy **** is annoying. They’re a bull**** “3-0” and now they’re playing Georgia St. Good Lord I hope they go 4-8.
Yup, and South Carolina has looked like ass, plus lost Sellers early in that game last week.

Vandy's schedule is interesting the rest of the way:

Georgia St
Utah St
@Bama
LSU
Mizzou
@Texas
Auburn
Kentucky
@Tenneessee

Chalk up 3 road losses, 2 cupcake wins; and 4 home coinflips. They could be 5-7 or 9-3
